Ear hair I have a quick question about ear hair. Bentleys ears have been standing up for months now with no signs of flopping. I've shaved his ears since we got him at 12 weeks. He is now about 9 months or so. My question is, do I have to shave them forever to keep them standing or should they be fine now? Silly question I know but I haven't taken him to the groomer in about a month in a half bc I'm trying to grow his hair out and his ears are very hairy right now. Also, how often do you take your baby to the groomer? Should I wait longer bc I'm trying to grow it out or not? He gets a bath once a week, and used to go once a month to the groomer but they always seem to cut off any progress we make length wise. Thanks in advance for your help. :) <3 |
If you want the ears to continue to stand, continue shaving for the lifetime of the dog. If you choose not to shave/trim, the hair will eventually weigh down the ear flap. If you want to grow the coat longer, make sure your groomer knows not to cut or don't take your pup to the groomer. You can learn to do all of the maintenance grooming at home: ear trimming, foot trimming, sanitary cut. |
