Does anyone have a professional dryer?

As a groomer I've used a few different types of professional dryers. I haven't used the one you linked to but i have heard nice things about that brand. Most of the ones I use are too powerful for our yorkies so i wouldn't recommend them, and the smaller one i have at my current work place is very loud and kinda high pitch. I have used the andis ones that look like our hair dryers and i hate them. Also not really a fan of the master equipment or metro air ones.

I do like the chris christensen kool dry dryer. its small, quiet, only blows cool air, and has variable speeds. Plus it comes in cool colors and you get a free colored pin brush or buttercomb!

I agree, finding the quietest professional dryer is what is needed.

Being a groomer, I've used countless. I have a Double K stand drier at home (that I use on those rare occassions when I'm grooming a double coated breed). My mentor gave me a Qui Eeta (an old drier that is about 45 years old and cannot be found anymore) I love it. It's quiet and with soft flowing air that is so crucial when cultivating a coat for the ring. The only thing that I've found comperable is an Oster Drier.

i like the blue Double K stand drier too. We had them at grooming school and of all the ones i've used since these have to be my favorite stand drier. it has enough power and is quiet enough to separate hair and dry hair while i'm fluff drying.

I must have a different Double K drier that what you used in grooming school. Mine is super noisey, my dogs hate it. I do like it's power, love it for drying double coated breeds.

I only have my two at home that I was wanting to get a "better" dryer than my hair dryer, for the winter months. They both have such thick fluffy hair, and it takes forever to blow dry, plus they always look like they weigh 10 lbs when done, bc they just turn into a giant puff...

I don't want to spend a fortune and it can't be crazy loud to scare them and it can't be too powerful...

I gotta think more and research some more I guess...

That Kool Dryer looks perfect, but $$$ :cool:

Morgan is really poofy too but i find that when i bath her at work and use the high velocity on a low setting with a flat nozzle attachment it makes her hair lay flatter because its more powerful then a regular hair dryer. Morgan's not really a fan of it though because its so loud.

Got a quick way to cut the poofy look. Flat Iron the coat, flat ironing also cuts down on the mats, fuses the coat together and adds shine.

Another way is drying the coat layer by layer and brushing as you go.....starting from underneat and working towards the top.

I have the Oster table dryer. It has variable heat and a no heat option. I love it. Mine look better after I groom them than when the groomer does it. I wouldn't call it quiet but it seems to have a lower pitch and the pups don't mind it. It wasn't cheap at $225 but it seems really well made. My breeder/exhibiter recommended it.

That's really interesting! I definitely have a "soft coat" and it tangles easily. When I flat iron mine I can comb right through it. I even look silky! :D. Beemer has a thick modified coat. I may try this with him. I never thought about us having the same hair!

would this work on a cotton coat or only silky?
