Oster Pink Trimmer? I've watched my grooming DVD & now I'm trying to get my list of grooming supplies I need to order ready. I don't feel like I will need any heavy duty clippers b/c I don't plan to keep Lulu's hair short. So, I'd like to start out with something that will do her sanitary areas (bottom, tummy, tips of ears, feet pads). Is this good for that? I found this kit which includes some scissors, but I plan to order some Fromm curved scissors as recommended on the DVD. PetEdge: Oster Simply Pink Trimmer/Shear Kit What do you think? ;) |
I bought those @ Walmart. Work good for pads of feet and ears. That's all I use them for. |
I would get a Wahl Peanut Trimmer instead. Mary (Mardelin) recommended this a long time ago on here and I bought one. I LOVE it! It makes those trims you mention go smooth as can be! It weighs 4 ounces and is less than 4" long but has all the power of a full sized clipper set. I liked it so well, that I also bought the cordless version a little over a year ago. I like the cordless for ease of use -- I am not as coordinated when I have to deal with the cord. But for continuous big power (and it takes me a long time to do my crew) -- the corded verison is probably best. If I am doing one, I like the cordless. I think the Peanut is going for around $40 but you might find a better deal with one of the ebay dealers that sell new dog grooming products. I bought my cordless on ebay and the corded one at Sally's Beauty Supply. |
Thank you. I will check out the Wahl Peanut as well. |
*BUMP* I have absolutely no advice for you so bump, bump!! |
I still haven't bought a trimmer yet. With Lulu being spayed & being diagnosed with LP, I put the grooming supply purchase off. Anyway, is the Wahl Peanut Trimmer #8685 the one recommended? |
I bought those clippers to use on Mabel, but every time I turn them on near her she runs off !! She is just terrified of anything having to do with bathing or grooming. I try not to bathe her until absolutely positively neccessary! She usually smells like dirty laundry! Last night she smelled so bad i attempted to wash only her face with a warm washcloth. Afterward she went under the bed and would not come out for 4 hours! What an ordeal!!! |
