Samples of shampoos???
 
Can you still get samples of some of the shampoos, I would really like to get samples before I spend a lot on shampoo, I know everyone has a different opinion on shampoos, but is biogroom and minksheen that good? Also is the internet the only place to buy shampoo for yorkies that is any good? thanks in advance for any advice.

I really like both of the ones you mention. Minksheen sells a sample size on their website. Biogroom sent me samples when I wrote to them. I love their Fluffy Puppy and conditioner for puppies -- no tear formula and smells great. I use Minksheen and love the results both in shiny, silky coats and natural insecticide that has worked well for my pups.

Vellus sells a sample pack. biogroom can be found at some pet stores, do an on line inquiry. Minksheen I've not used.

ISB is great too, not too sure if they have a sampler pack or not. And BTW hubby likes it for his hair too. lol

IOD I really like as well, in fact I alternate between ISB and IOD. I think they sell small bottles of their shampoos and conditioners. You need to try them out for at least 4-6 washings to see if they work out for you and your dog.

Biogroom is very generous with their samples. I use the conditioner and shampoo for my Gio and it smells wonderful, and works very well. You won't be sorry if you buy it.

I love trying new products so I samples are great way to learn if you like the product. I have so many shampoos that I tried once or twice! Biogroom will send a free sample pack to you if you email and ask for it. I use their Shampoo and conditioner, even though I've tried many others products, I always go back to Biogroom. Joey's breeder recommended it and it's her belief that if you take care of the skin, the hair will take care of itself! She recommends a through rinsing and always use a conditioner. Yes Nancy, rinsing out all the shampoo is soooo important. I read somewhere if you've think you've rinsed enough, then rinse some more!. I rinse really really well behind the ears, through all the facial hairs, through loins, and stomach.

Also when adding shampoo, don't just pour it over the back, instead pour into hand or alternatively onto the side hairs. Use a downward motion of your hands, not a circular one, to avoid entangling the hair. After shampoo the hair should be literally squeaky clean. Always as you say use a conditioner. I use Biogroom Oatmeal condition on head facial furnishings, and other conditioners on main coat. Also play with the dilution rates, to see what works best for your dog's coat, which might change over time, and in different seasons.

Also for show final conditioner rinse out with cool water not hot.

Lol, Joey's breeder told me this too. She said the main cause of dry flakey skin in not rinsing enough, and boy does she check his skin when I bring him in for a grooming! Great tips, and an important reminder about dilution if using Biogroom, as it's super concentrated, and you should always mix it with water before using. Those little samples will go a long way!

Question on this. Mocha always shivers when I try to leave the condition on him as instructed. So I rinse him off quickly. But now you say cool water. Wouldn't that make him cold? Especially with weather now? Help!

I throw a clean towel in the dryer to heat it up when I am washing him.

Thank you very very much for the excellent suggestions. I can't believe it is so simple. Never thought I can wrap him in warm towel during conditioning so he never has enough time with conditioning because he shivers and I can't bear to see him cold. Now I know what to do. To answer your question about age, he just turned one years old last week. I used to wash him every 5 days but changed to every 7 days because he was starting to have dandruff problem. I added fish oil to his diet and oatmeal shampoo and he's good now. Just read about not rinsing enough also causes that so I will be careful in the future. Again, thank you very much. Much appreciated!!!

I want to try multiple brands of shampoo in a sample. Almost like a sample pack/bag. Does anybody know where I can get something like that?

Don't think you'll find one package of multiple brands. You are going to have to contact individual dealers for each brand.
