Post Surgery Cuts... So...Rizzo got his neuter yesterday and for some reason the vet/vet techs shaved both of his front legs down in a sort of chinese crested look :thumbdown so his feet are still nice and furry, and then his fur starts back up again above his elbows. When I get home I'll take some pictures but I need to know, how can I camouflage this cut? Anyone have to do this before? His coat was finally growing in so nicely, and still is everywhere else. Now his front legs are just sad looking :( |

Leg warmers? I read a post about them a day or two ago. Thought what a great idea for the little ones who hqve sparse leg hair still. Perfect for your little one's case. |
Get him an all over puppy cut and soon it will grow back in to match that, then you an grow him out again. There is not much else you can do right now. Neither of my vets shaved my boys legs during their neuter, they just worked around the hair. They had the belly shave though, but at least that was not as obvious. Hows Rizzo doing? |
He is doing great, indignant about the e-collar but otherwise, he is himself :D I def wouldn't be posting about the hair if something was wrong ;) I guess the puppy cut may have to do, or I'll just ignore it...poor dude looks so silly though, lol. Hes got the thin hair so it takes forever to grow :P ah well, as is with everything involving yorkies...patience :D |
They did that when both of my dogs were neutered. I just did what celstu1 suggested. They both got really short puppy cuts so it wasn't noticeable anymore. |
You will be surprised how fast that hair grows enough to not look funny. |
When ours had that done, our neighbors little girl said "Look mommie, he's a zebra Yorkie...he has stripes". She still thinks that...she's 5 now. |
How about boots? :scratchhe |
Lol, the way his fur is currently trimmed it looks like he is wearing fur boots, lol :D It does appear to have grown just a tad, so we're on the right track...I promise I'll post pics now that he is back to his old self again :D |
