Yorkie coats ?!?!
 

I was hoping to get some suggestions on all yorkie coats.

If it's possible to post a picture of your baby up telling me.

1) What type of coat it is.
2) What Shampoos and Conditioners work best for you.
3) How often you wash their coat.
4) & What hair cuts work best for your babys hair type.

I believe I have a cotton coat yorkie and my other one is a silky coat but I'm not 100% positive so, if I can compare pictures it would help me out a lot!

CoCo's eyes flash a green in pictures. Suki flashes red, but Suki is only 5 months old so I don't know if it's too soon to tell.

hi ther i use a tearless puppy shampoo for masie wich i bought from pets at home i dnt use a conditioner for her as her fur is so soft. after washing her. i think i would say that masie has a silky coat as her coat is very soft and shiny and when i pick her up she glids thro my hands if im not carefull i could drop her she that slippy im always combing her and brushing her when she on my lap a sleep

2) John Paul PET super bright shampoo (it is purple!), John Paul PET detangling conditioner
3) weekly
4) Layla has had some cute cuts! A cotton coat will not stop you from having an adorable dog. She goes to the groomer every 6 months

1) Silky, a little wavy though not completely straight
2) Just started using PEK conditioner on him.... no tangles!
3) weekly
4) long hair. sometimes I flat iron it after it is dry because I don't blow-dry. It looks super cute but leave the flat iron on a much lower setting.

I've never heard of a cotton yorkie before here in Iceland.
The yorkie breed should only have silky coat not cottony.

1. Fido has silky coat (normal yorkie coat) , but he has very thick coat and after he was shaved this summer he started getting cottony coat above his tail, nowhere else just above the tail.
I always put silk drops there to get the coat there silky again its not working really well.
He has the thickest coat i've found on a yorkie, but not cottony (except that small place above the tail).

2. I use Pet Silk, shampoo called Pet Silk Rainforest Shampoo and conditioner called Pet Silk Rainforest Conditioner, then after baths i spray on Pet Silk Leave In Conditioner after and brush it trough the coat :)
Then sometimes after bath i don't use the leave in spray but i use Pet Silk Liquid Silk Serum drops and rub it into the coat, i love that product.

3. I wash his coat every 5-7 days it depends how well i wash the coat and how dirty the coat becomes, sometimes i bathe him with 2 weeks between the baths sometimes just 5-6 days, it depends.

4. Either totally shaved, but just hair on the head and feet, or fluffy everywhere with long coat, if the coat is medium length it gets more matts than if its in full length.
He has so thick coat that i groom him twice a day.

Morgan has a cotton coat. the first picture is her at 5 months and the second is her now.

i use a bunch of different shampoos & conditioners on her hair.

Morgan goes in the shower with me once a week.

I keep her cut short most of the time but in the winter i'll let it grow out to 2 inches. any longer then that and she'll mat like crazy

Pixie has a silky coat
I use Pet Silk and most recently Lambert Kay
I was her every 2 weeks
She is in full coat without a topknot
Real easy to groom rarely mats

Roxie has a cottony coat
I use Pet silk and Lamber Kay
Bathed every 2 weeks
In full coat.
Hard to keep mats out and a lot of work to keep looking nice

I do not know how to post the picture on here but if you look in pictures I just posted a professinal photo I had done. I have 4 yorkies 2 are regular and 2 cotton. I use tear free shampoo on all even Romeo Good Luck

First of all - their coat is amazing!!! but you know that, I guess! ;)

Maya has a bit of wavy hair, especially on her head. what does that mean?

Rosie has a silky coat. I am using Yorkie Splash and Shine shampoo and conditioner. She has to be bathed weekly. I only trim her up because I love her hair being longer. :)
