Nail Clipper that detects the quick I recently came upon a nail clipper that is supposed to detect where the quick is. It's like a stud finder. The clipper shows red when it detects where the quick is and turns green when the quick is no longer in danger of being cut. Has anyone heard of this clipper or used it? It sounds too good to be true but if it works that would be great. |

Never heard of such, but if you get one...let us know what you think. |
The one I saw was in Pet Solutions and looked a little different. I am wondering if they work? |
it is too good to be true. they don't work very well and you can still hit the quick even when the light is green. |
Thanks, that is about what I thought it would do. Some day someone will come up with something that does work and they will be the hero of the dog world. |
As a dog groomer i'm still waiting for that day. hahaha personally i use nail clippers to get the majority of the excess nail off and then use a dremel to smooth down the rest. works much better and you don't have to worry about quicking the nail (unless you really go to town with the dremel). |

i dont take my dog to get groomed because she gets stressed and that can induce an IBD flare up. so i only take her to get her nails trimmer and her paws hair trimmed. how much do you charge at your place and are you close to cliffside park, nj? thanks |
When I was in Petco yesterday I saw they were carrying 2 different brands of the quick detecting clippers. If anyone gets one, I'd be interested in knowing how they do. Nail trimming always scares the bejeebers out of me. |
I actually bought one from Petco a few months ago and took it back. It was too good to be true as others have said. They are big and clunky and unless your dog sits very still, it won't matter if it detects the quick anyway. It didn't detect my dog's quick quick enough! |
