Solution for Mats that works.... Thought I would share this with everyone. Many of you may already know that this works for getting mats out but I had never heard of it before and I tried it and it worked great. I had tried other detanglers before but couldn't get Bella's mats out and she has a cottony coat. I used baby powder, you can use any talcum powder. I just put some right on the mat and worked it in with my fingers and then used a slicker brush and slowly brushed the mat out. I was amazed at how painless it was for Bella, she sat there the whole time and let me do this which has never happened before and it got the mats out completely. Hope this helps some of you. |
thanks that's a new one, I will try it... |
I think I read on this forum that cornstarch works great as well. (Some Baby powders are cornstarch) |

Yup, it's the corn starch in the baby powder that works so you can just use plain corn starch. |

Beamer's groomer has recommended the Crown Royale detangler, but I don't recall seeing any reviews on it. |

I can't locate the detangler concentrate online just the 16oz detangling spray. |

LOL - I should try it as a detangler. I have only used it occasionally as a finishing spray. Didn't want to overspray as I use the Miracle Coat conditioner before I brush and comb him. |

I'm confused- I was told not to wet down a mat because it ends up making it tighter. So should I use a detangler or corn starch? |
