My Bailey is almost 16 months and his hair is only now getting long, when he was a pup he had very little facial hair, not at all like most of the fluffy faced yorkie pups I kept seeing, it was even suggested to me that he might be a Chorkie!:eek: He is pure yorkie however, and his hair is just slow growing, but he has a pretty coat, although it is quite fragile. I'm sure if you take time and care with Maya's coat, it will be beautiful.:)

I tried several and they gave me two problems, they matted his hair and irritated his skin on his belly and armpit area. It was actually the shape of the harness that made a difference for my little boy. I used a cheap nylon step in harness from Petsmart that had a rounder shape for the piece that goes behind the legs (around his belly). That one didn't irritate him. Capt_Noonie took pitty on me and Kaji and made him a "Priscilla original" harness modeled after the shape of the nylon harness. I have since given away all of my extra harnesses, including the Petsmart nylon harness, to small dog owners in my area that were walking their dogs on their collars instead of harnesses. Can't say if it can be recreated, but the "Priscilla Original" harness sure has made a difference! :D

Thanks. When I use satin lined apparel-harnesses that seems to help with some matting...depending on how "squirrely" they get on a walk.

Mine do not mind it and actually love the extra attention. They will sometimes fall asleep while i am grooming them, or wrapping them. And when their long hair is up in the wraps, they go running through the house since they feel a sense of freedom. I think they feel better with all their hair up. Now when they are finished showing, we usually cut their hair short for easy care.

Absolutely not. That is why they are kept in wraps so they have the ability to do just what dogs are meant to do. The extra attention they love, they are actually spending more mommy and me time than the average pet. They are being pampered and love it. The time spent on grooming is bonding time.

And maybe I am wrong about her coat, I don't get matting but then again I brush her throughout the day. But it seems thin . Maybe I need to be more sure about her coat, I just thought it looked like fibers way underneath but it looks silky when i brush it. We had another furious adventure in the tub last night. I am not sure she has forgiven me even though she gladly rode in with me today. But yes a topknot and maybe I should consider puppy she is only 7 mos. afterall. But yes I purchased her as a pet but want to give her every advantage in life possible, pretty girls always have that.....

She is gorgeous!! How long did it take for the hair on her head to get that long?

I have a girl that is 2 years old with a great silky coat. The hair on her body already touches the floor but it seems like the hair on her head is only half way there. So maybe the hair on her face won't ever get that long since she drinks out of a bowl?

:thumbup: I agree and Razz even goes swimming too:D in wraps - wrapping jacket and his lifejacket.

I am learning. But yes Mia would like to grow her coat to see if she can do so!! I admt she looks cute in a purse but even cuter keeping me company! And the pics of long coats is phenominal!!!

Do you guys have pictires of your beautiful and amazing dogs in wraps so I can see how it looks like?
