Hair bows, ect Hello- I cant seem to keep a bow in Bellas hair..within 10 minutes of me puttin it in she has it out! Is there some special dog bow I can buy that will actually stay in? :aimeeyork |
Looked at your album. Looks like the bow is a big one? Try a smaller bow. If using one with a band how many times are you wrapping the band around the hair? |
Hi! The breeder that I got Daisy from told me that I had to do what she called "bow training". First, just put a band in her hair until she gets use to it. In the beginning, she would try to get the band out. But with patience and praise, she let it in. ( it took several days ) Then, I moved to very small bows and did the same thing. I never put a bow in unless I could watch her because I was afraid that if she got it out, she might try and eat it. It didn't take long before she got use to the bow. Now I can put any size bow, barrette, etc. in her hair and she doesn't even pay attention to it! Good luck! |

For future, if you eventually move up to larger bows, try to still keep them lightweight initially... and work your way up (if desired) to ones with heavier/larger embellishments. Another little tip for you: If you choose to eventually use bows with barrettes, make a topknot first and then slip the barette through the hair below the band - this will keep it from slipping off. Good luck! :) |
I like the bows with the metal spring clips (like this: Designer Dog Bone Barrettes in blue, pink, purple and blue) because everything else aside from rubber bands just slides out! Usually I put the hair in a rubber band and then attach the clip. |
The bow she has on in the pic is the one the groomer put in..I have trying to use just those cloth bands and she has them out in minutes! I dont put them in too tight because I feel like it hurts her! Should I do it tighter? Thanks for the advice.. Ill try to train her for her hair bow!! |
