Reasonable prices.... What do you consider to be too much? I've only had my dog for 4 months and I've had him groomed once, by a lady trying to establish her business in the rural FL panhandle. She cut his hair, trimmed and cleaned his ears, his nails, bathed, dried combed and a bow for $15. I gave her $20. She's out of town this week which puts me back in central FL next week and he desperately needs to be groomed. I don't have a groomer there, but I've looked at various sites, not any are less than $50. I realize the $20 is a steal, but how much is too much for the above things? All his hair is so uneven from his surgery. His front and back legs are just a variety of lengths. You can't see his eyes. :D Just looking for an average, I don't mind paying for services but I don't want be to taken either for a basic groom. |
A local groomer here charges $30 for a complete groom (bath, cut, ears plucked & "tipped", nails cut/filed, anal glands expressed, everything). I think that's reasonable. $50 sounds high to me. At least it would be in my area. |
In clermont,fl I have called around and the cheapest for everything you mentioned would run about 35.00 I used to pay 50.00 when I had 1 but not now that I have 3. |
where i am a typical full groom for a yorkie is $55 and up depending on coat condition and behavior. |
Wow! $15-$30 would be a STEAL over here! I doubt that I could get my dog groomed for less than $40. It's about $35 for just a BATH (incl anal glands, paw pad and butt hair trim, nail cutting)! I pay on average $45-$55, depending on what I get done. |

I charge $35.00, which is low ball for So. California. Ears, cleaned, pads, nails, anal glands, massage, teeth.....the works. They are dried in my lap and not caged at all. I've had customers tell me that they've paid up to $80.00 and up to $125.00. |
I think anything under $50 is a good price. We're located just outside of Toronto and the going rate is around $50+. I just looked up Bella's last few visits - she goes monthly ... they cost $55.95, $49.95, $59.95, $64.95, $59.95, $59.95 ... plus 13% tax, plus tip! This treatment includes 2 shampoos, conditioner, hot oil treatment, massage, anal glands, nails, midday walk - and, of course, cut & blow dry. |

Bamawife, I was reading your other post in the diet section, are you in Covington county? I'd help out a fellow YT'er with a new grooming client. $35 sounds very reasonable. |
I am so lucky! I have a lady come to the house to groom Beamer and Lil Bit once a month. Lil Bit is kept shaved down, but Beamer is growing a full coat. She only charges me $50 to groom both of them. (I always give her extra though). She groomed Beamer last week, Lil Bit didn't need anything, and she would only charge me $25 (again I gave her extra). But I do brush Beamer every day, so she doesn't have to worry about getting matts out of him. But she does everything - bath, anal glands, nails and tips his ears. Plucks his ears and trims his paws for me. She used to work for Aussie Pet Mobile, which is how I met her. But they went out of business in this area. I used to pay $55 just for Beamer's grooming to them. |

i love in nj and i pay 60 dollars per dog, includes bath cut nails ears, anything else is extra, plus tax and a tip. i tried a cheaper route 1 time a friend of mine daughter was going to grooming school and she and her class needed models and she needed a yorkie,,, needless to say its was a disaster, and the burn from the razor took a few days before he was even sort of comfortable. Im leary to try anywhere else than we have been going since he was a puppy. |

Here in South Carolina where i took my lil one she only charge me $ 16.00 and she did everything even called me to see what color bow i wanted i know she has been doing this for about 15 years Pat |
I wish I could pay less than $40 around here! I, when first getting Jackson, called around to a ton of groomers. Every single one gave me between $50-$80. I found a groomer I really liked 5 minutes away from my house, she was in a small little shop that sold puppies and she groomed him in the back. She was pretty good, but I did not like the fact that they sold puppies (puppy mills!) and I really didn't want any of my hard earned money going towards that. Plus, Jackson would have to stay for around 4 hours. So I found an amazing mobile groomer, who charges JUST as much ($55) and he's got one-on-one time with her, right in my driveway and he's done within 45 mins-1 hour. Amazing. I give her a $10 tip and she does a much better job than the other lady. He seemed much more relaxed, too, throughout the whole thing. Highest I'd paid? Probably what I'm paying now ($55, plus $10 tip = $65). |

I wish I can find that kind of package for $15 where I live. Ariel has had grooming that ranged from $35-$50. |
I pay $35 |
I had him groomed in CF last week. It was $45.00. He got a puppy cut, they took his hair down to his shortest post surgical length. One thing that seems odd, when they tipped his ears, they shaved the upper portion of the back of this ears? Is that normal? My son says he looks like a bat. :D I think I'll stick with the $15 lady. She even offered a choice of a bow or a bandana for that price. I didn't get that for $45. |
