Hair breakage when I pull Sophie's hair into a scrunchie, a very tiny scrunchie I might add she always has some hair hanging over her eyes. It seems to be broken hair. I don't pull her hair tight and I don't use elastic bands, just the soft little pony tail holders. is there anything I can do to stop the hair from breaking? Anybody have any tricks that may be useful? thanks for any help |
I don't have any tips, was wondering if someone else does though because this happens to mine too. I have one girl with silky straight hair and one with thick silky hair and it happens to both of them too!! Doesn't matter what kind of hair they have. I also use the little teri scrunchies and I take them out at night, still they have the fuzzies. Let's hope someone posts who can help us both!! |
No one has any suggestions? Poor Sophie destined to see the world through a veil of hair:(If I ever find a way to keep it away from her face, other than shaving her bald, she will probably be surprised at what she sees:eek: |
Maximo had some hair breakage at the inner corners of his eyes -- the hair that goes up into the topknot. His was the result of a combination of eye boogers and brittleness caused by sticky foods, yogurt and sweet peas. After he would eat, he would rub his face in his bed or on the couch. :p Hair gel can also dry out the hair and cause breakage during combing. After we switched foods and he matured a bit, his eye boogers decreased and he stopped rubbing his face. The hair is growing long again. I think keeping the hair clean and conditioned helps stop breakage. Discourage head rubbing too. |
Sophie seems to be afflicted with a permanent visor effect. I keep the eye booger fairy away and I don't think she rubs her head just above her eyes but will keep a watch. She for sure doesn't get any sticky food there and definitely no hair gel. Thanks for your help, appreciate it.:D |

How old is Sophie? Post some pictures. |
I am really crummy with taking pics but must do so soon. Sophie is 2 years old. I really have to update my avatar as it shows Lola my 3 year old yorkie who weighs 10+ lbs. Sophie is about 4 lbs and a little thick around the middle. What can I say she likes her food as does Lola abviously. They are not obese just filled out well. :D Lola has a cotton coat so is kept short. Sophie has a silk coat and I keep trying to let it grow but it is so fine and fragile that I have a hard time getting too much length without it breaking. |
