Pet Silk products reviews? Looking for reviews for Pet Silk products. I'm considering the Conditioning Silk shampoo & conditioner. Pros/Cons? Suitable for puppies? |
I love it and pretty much use it exclusively. I have 2 silky coated ones and 2 cottony coated ones and it works great on both types. |
Thank you. I think I will give it a try. :D |

I used Pet Silk Products years ago, until they changed their formula. After that, my dogs were experiencing flaking, itching and very uncomfortable. I no longer use it. As a exhibitor/breeder/groomer I suggest taking a look at Bio-Groom products. I use Fluffy Puppy as it is soapless and kinder to a puppy coat and scalp. |

I used PetSilk products on Maximo until I decided that they were drying out and weighing down his coat. We switched to Biogroom's oatmeal shampoo and silk creme conditioner and couldn't be happier. When the budget allows, we try other products, but we keep returning to the Biogroom. |
Do pet stores carry Bio groom? |

Bio Groom suggestions Quote:
Thank you for your help on another thread I started regarding grooming bands. I am now looking at this thread for shampoo suggestions. With a modifed coat, which Bio Shampoo would you suggest I try out. Emee is 9 months with a coat almost to the floor. While I am tempted to cut her down, I love the look of a full coat. Before I give in to the puppy cut, I am going full coat for the next few months. What shampoo would you reccomend for us to try? Thanks for your help. |
Joey's breeder recommended Biogroom and I really love it. The Biogroom Company gives away a free sample packet of various shampoos and conditioners, if you email them. Don't forget the products are highly concentrated and should be mixed with 4 parts water before using. Bio-Groom - Exceptional Pet Care Products for Over 30 Years Just click on "Contact Us." My favorite product is the cream rinse, it smells so good. |
Thanks for the suggestions. Think I'll send off for some BioGroom samples. :D |

There is a product I've been using first for my BRT"s then, I decided to expand and try out for Razzle our Yorkie. It's called Isle of Dogs. www.isleofdogs.com They have a questionnaire you can fill out and they will get back to you with their product recommendations. I'm sorry don't know if they will send free samples or not. Their heavy cream conditioner number 51 I believe is very good for dematting/detangling. I do continue to use Plush Puppy Shampoos (but not their conditioners). Also from them is a great product called swishy coat that can be used for a grooming spray. Biogroom Oatmeal I always use for Razz's paws as he seems to like to try to chew those a lot. Also around his ears I use. Their Biogroom silk conditioner is also very good and I too love the smell of it. I've also just started to use ISB| Iv Saint Bernard green apple shampoo and conditioner and I have the SIL - haven't made up my mind yet on their products. But coat care often can change as your puppy grows n matures, and your climate also has a lot of influence. Feeding the coat from the inside out is always your first way to go. There will be a whole lot of suggestions on this. Hydration ie lots of water is pretty important in the overall scheme of things. I've recently over the past six weeks been adding Royal Jelly an Isle of Dogs product to my beasties food. The most marked difference is in the BRT"s coat which are by nature double coarse coated breed. Their coat is shining despite the challenges of sun/wind and water. Not too sure if Razz's coat is a whole lot different yet. I may try to up the dosage a bit for him and see over the next six weeks. |

I have Laser Lites - and have only used it on the BRT's umm. will try it out on razz man and see. I do love that product which I tend to use more in fall/spring when we get all muddy, it really cuts through the gunk. Thanks for the tip Mary |

For anyone interested, Petco and Bath & Body Works both carry IOD online and in some of their stores. The Isle of Dogs website offers free FedEx shipping on orders over $50. |
