Bri's First Haircut Well, Bri is scheduled for her first grooming appointment this week. We are just getting a bath and a trim though. I have a question. I'm wanting her hair to grow a little longer, so I just want a trim. Are their any places I should avoid getting cut? |
If you want her to have the natural yorkie top knot then specifically ask the groomer NOT to cut the hair around the eyes even tho its sticking up and covering her eyes. Most groomers do this automatically because most pet owners want to see the eyes so make sure you tell the groomer you are growing it out. If you want her hair to grow out i wouldn't even get a trim. Just ask them to do her basics (nails, pads, sanitary, and ears) and bath/brush out. |
Thanks. I wasn't going to take her in, as I can express glands, clean ears, and keep nails trimmed. Do you still think its necessary to take her? With our previous yorkie, we got him when he was older and he didn't like anything being done to him. A groomer was our best bet. However, with Bri, she doesn't mind getting pampered. |
If you can handle everything yourself then its fine to do it all at home. However if you want her to go to a professional groomer its best to do it now while she is a puppy so she gets used to the process. she may be good for you at home but at a groomer it is different. |
Okay thanks. One of my friends suggested that it might be best just to get her in. Thanks for all the advice, I hope it goes well. She's quite the drama queen, so I'm sure she'll give them a run for their money!!! |
