I think Bailey is traumatized Bailey got shaved this weekend because of so many knots and mats in her hair. It wasnt' what i wanted to do, but really had no other choice. I hated hurting her by the brushing but i think im the one hurting now. Since her buzz, she hardly walks, and now won't really eat or drink anything. I have a sweater on her and she's wrapped up in a receiving blanket, so i know she's not cold. But i feel like such a horrible mother! I'm hoping its just shock from going from a whole body of hair, to no hair. Anyone else experience similar problems???? Please help... i feel horrible!:confused::confused::( |
Aww, poor Bailey. Was she shaved by a groomer or did you do it at home? If it was done by a professional, maybe the whole experience of going to the groomer and being away from you was traumatic for her. Just to be on the safe side, check her body closely for any hidden injuries. My Maximo is in full coat, but the first few times I shaved his ear tips, he moped and seemed self-conscious, but that lasted only a couple of hours. Keep telling Bailey that she is beautiful, give her some puppy massage. Coax her to eat and drink, and watch closely for hypoglycemia. Hope she is feeling better soon! |
awe poor Bailey. I hope this was not the first visit to the groomers. I agree that you should keep telling her how beautiful she is bc they can feel our emotions. If you are negative about her looks she will sense it. Daisy got shaved once and she looke awful bc she is jack russell-poodle and has a long snout and they shaved beard off. She was ugly looking, but I kept telling her how beautiful she was and she walked around so proud of herself. It will grow back. I would get some sweaters to keep her warm.;) |
we did it at home cause she is not quite 3 months. i just feel so heart broken. at least its not something that's going to last a while... im so worried about her!:( |

My Groomer Shaved Mimi also! I just about cried when I seen her. She looks like a chihuaha and a giraffe combined. She acts weird and shakes. I am keeping her in plenty of clothes and food for her. |
