Ok, so he's adorable in both pictures, :D but I love the shaved body and long hair on legs and tail, he looks great all the time, even when he wakes up. It grows out well, and looks great in between haircuts too.

LOL I have my male cut the same way. Its much easier to manage and perfect for a male dog. IMO. Only thing Marlins tail isnt very long still growing that out. :D

How old is Marlin? I think it may have taken almost 2 years for Joey to have long tail hair.

Marlin is 4 well will be March 22, I believe. I used to have his hair cut in the Schnauzer cut so thats why his tail hair is soo short. I recently cut his hair like this and dont think Ill have it cut like before ever again. This cut fits him better IMO and he looks super cute and still like a Yorkie and not a pretty Schnauzer. Do you have all your Yorkies cut like this? My females have longer coats. I wont say a full coat because its not nearly as long as it should be to be a full coat. But long enough to have to comb daily and so on. It gets hot here so I have a hard time in the summer with their hair being long. I fight myself half way through summer to not cut it and then end up cutting it due to it being so hot. Thye seem to enjoy it shorter and I the opposite I love the long hair and nightly brushing. :D

I only have Joey, but I think this cut would look great on females as well. I've seen others, whose dogs have a cotton coat, and it looks great on them too. Joey wears sweaters and hoodies in the winter, and this cut works well with clothes or without! Occationally, I miss the long hair, but it only really looked great after a bath. I'm in Phoenix, it get hot here in the summer too! :D

My Dolly has kinda thin ,fine,very wavy hair,not good long. It get's stringy looking fast, not matter how much I brush her!! Or how clean she is. Any idea's on a good cut and pic's for her??? Thank's

No before picture, but here is Blue Sake in a bell bottom style. His ex owner wanted him in that style & I find this easy to keep up with but I'm letting his coat to grow out to see what other styles I want to play with. I want his topknot to grow long for the tied up topknot! ;) I love the bows I see on this forum & I want to make my own bows.

First picture, Blue was not cooperating to stand still. He just wanted to get off the grooming table.

Try again, the picture didn't upload. Sometimes if the picture is too big, it will try to upload it, but it will say upload failed if you look closely. Make the picture, no bigger than 8 inches.

The pictures made it in #19 post. I need to remember to check the size of the pictures before uploading them on YT forum. :confuse8:

Okay I can see the pictures now, I love the little bell-bottom look, every yorkie I've seen with it looks different, but they all look great. Very cute! I think you should grow the topknot out too, there are so many great looking bows! She's adorable!

Thank you! Blue is a boy. ;) The bell bottom style is perfect to keep him clean. Now I'm letting his har to grow, whenever he goes potty, his hair inside the legs get a little dirty. I have to use pet wipe on his legs and his face, too. Kudos to people like you who keep Yorkies in long coat. His body coat grow faster than his head. Probably due to the color. Tomorrow is going to be 12th day since his surgery. I could hardly wait to give him a very good bath! He doesn't stink but looks a little messy. I agree about the bows! I hope I have the talent to make pretty show bows. If not, I'll stick to rhinestone & floral.

Oh sorry, everyone always thinks Joey's a girl too, I don't know why, but Yorkies just look like girls to me. Joey's breeder leaves a little "pee string" on him, it's a small amount of hair that directs the urine so it doesn't dribble. Here's a picture of the pee string, it doesn't need to be very long only about an inch will do it. Look for the area that says "Trimming Urination Area of a Dog" Welcome to Holly Huxford's Animal Page!

That's a cute cut, love it. Merlin went for his first haircut today...Good that I have no clue how to post pics (and don't read manuals)...he looks like a rat with a bushy tail and a big head. But it's certainly much easier on him in this heat.

A bushy tail and a big head sounds adorable. It's so easy to post a picture, just hit "post reply" and under the message box and list of Icons, you will see the words "manage attachements" Click on that and follow directions.

Blue Sake is adorable. Cute cut. Does he have the wavy hair?? My Dolly Mia has silver and blonde wavy hair [rust color muzzle] I also use baby wipe's on her in between bathe's. She has alot of tearing ,is this a normal trait for Yorkie's?? Seem's I'm alway's wiping her face [and bottom] haha. Thank's for the pic's, I still haven't made up my mind about hairstlye's???

haha that's okay. Good thing is that Blue doesn't know that some people think he is a girl. :D Thank you so much for sharing the tip. I never knew about the pee string. The link is informative and helpful!

Thank you! :) Yes, he has wavy hair on his body but no wavy on the rest of him. Go figure. I think maybe it is because hair is short? He tears, too but not a lot. Every morning I use the pet (bath) wipe to clean his face and it helps to keep his face look clean. Glad I'm not the only one to wipe down there! haha Remember if you don't like the style, hair grows & you can try a different style. :D
