Just want a basic, cheap table I am going to TRY to start grooming my babies myself. (If you read my last thread, you will remember why!) Anyway, I don't want to spend a ton of money right off the bat, but want to have what I need. I bought clippers and would like just a basic, cheap table to help me with grooming them. Do you think either of these would work or do you have any other ideas? Thanks so much for any input or any other necessities that I will need. I am def. a newbie at this and will accept any and all advice! This is the one I purchased for taking on the road to shows. Pretty sturdy, I've had it for several years. The reason I purchased without the grooming arm is that I bought a grooming arm that folds away, when not needed. What you buy is dependent on the room you have for a grooming area in your home. When purchasing shears, don't go for the most expensive ones until you get better. Reason is you do a lot of dropping them.....and that throws them out of wack. Wait awhile until you get a bit more proficient before investing in more expensive shears. But, one thing you may want to consider is the quieter the better. You'll need a pair of thinning shears, curved and straight and small sharp ones for trimming those lil paws. Oh! invest in a pair of baby manicure scissors. |

I have a grooming arm, that attaches to any table, or counter. Works well, and I can use it anywhere. That said, I got it years ago... at a pet store |

I am planning to put in an order today for the first one in your post. For only doing at home grooming it is a great idea because you can just throw it on a counter or table and do the grooming. |
I know this is a really stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway...what are thinning shears for? |

We talked about them some in this thread. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-what-buy.html |
My uncle has been a groomer for years. I was reunited with him last night and he is going to train me how to groom the babies. I am also interested in a table, so I am looking forward to reading this thread. |
I am just curious if you have a coupon code or are purchasing enough from PetEdge to get free shipping? I was looking at this table for some time and like the free shipping. Of course it is Ebay and thus bidding on most items. New Largest Adjustable Pet Grooming Table w/Arm/Noose - eBay (item 120510719469 end time Dec-29-09 17:17:32 PST) Good luck! |

Though I'm a groomer, since I exhibit yorkies, I pretty much specialize in yorkie grooming. |
I also bought this video and while I am NO Expert and have not given it a try yet... it did seem VERY imformative on not only all aspects of grooming but also on recommended equipment. Yorkshire Terrier aka Yorkie Dog Grooming DVD Video - eBay (item 260529981786 end time Dec-29-09 21:00:16 PST) |
I have the first one and love it. I just put it on the bathroom counter when I use it and under the counter when not using. I recently took off the arm as I don't use it. |
