Eeeww schmutz on her "rosebud" There's tiny amounts of black schmutz like itty dots. Bath day was yesterday, but still there's some on there. I saw it while brushing her while Uni was on her back. I tried gently picking it off but she looks at me like Uh, excuse me wtf? Any tips on how to get it off? |
Hold Uni's tail up and move swiftly with a warm, damp paper towel and just wipe it off. I have to do that now and then. In fact, if there's a little dab left after her morning biz, Zoey assumes the poop position again and gives me a plaintive look until I get rid of it. :) When her anal glands are full, she'll rub her butt on the rug and give me that same intense and sorrowful look, until I drain them for her. Again, with a warm, damp paper towel for catching and cleaning. Zo is such a sweet and easy pup. :) I do these things when she's standing on the floor and make as little of a production of it as possible. If you don't give Uni a chance to start worrying and fretting, there'll be nothing to it... ;) |
Well it's not her butt, it's her vulva, right along the creases where it attaches to the belly. It's kinda like black waxy buildup. Really tiny spots, way way smaller than a flea size. I can kind of scrape them off, but she gets annoyed with me. |
maddie has the same thing on her vulva too.... i was wondering what that was... it what still there after a bath too... hmmmmm... hope someone will have some answers for us...:D |

I dunno if Zoey gets that or not. I don't think I've ever checked. When it gets light enough to take her out this morning, I'll take a look. I'm sure she'll be pleased. ;) |

This is cracking me up... :D Well, little Zo was quite surprised...amazed even...to have me probing her delicate RosebudGoodieWho-Ha. She looked on with deep concern as I moved it from side to side... Well. I am proud to announce her most excellent part is schmutz-free! :p:D;) Seriously, I remember my Yorkie, Phoebe, used to get that guck and I simply paid extra attention to that area during her bath. Phoebe had quite an oily coat...I think that had something to do with it in her case. Zoey's skin is closer to dry and dirt apparently doesn't stick there. In fact, she can easily go for a month or more without a bath. As long as I brush her well, she never looks dirty (except that I need to wash her face). Even now when she's been frolicking in all kinds of fallen leaves and whatall. The more she can romp in all that stuff, the happier she is. :) |

Sissy had something like this last summer. The vet said it was a fungus type of rash caused simply by being low to the ground while urinating. We were given a yellow liquid medication to put on it twice daily and it cleared up within a couple of days. |
