The Stuff for dogs Anyone ever tried it? It says it detangles, conditions, and repels dust dirt and urine. |
I have. I don't think it's for everyone. It's heavy & can weigh down a coat. If you have a true silk coat it would be like oil on it. But if you have a heavy coat or you're trying to work out a tangle you may like it. But not for repelling dirt etc. A small bottle would last a long way on a small pack of yorkies lol. |
I use it on Mimi girl to repel urine stains & take out mats from harnesses. She has a very light bum area & a full coat, so staining is an issue for her. I do have to wash her bum area every 3 days or so, but there's no stains. It's almost the same product as CC Ice on Ice at a fraction of a cost. |

I got mine from petedge. Do you keep the pee string on Bella? It helps direct the pee downwards, but it still gets on the hair. I'm thinking of tieing the hair on her bum area to the side of her legs w/bands.:D Or even french braiding it. Lol |
Thanks everyone for posting. Daisy is almost 7 months old and so far we don't have any problems with matting or tangles. She even does the cutest thing when she pees, she lifts he little foot up off the ground a bit so it doesn't get wet. It looks nothing like the way a boy would lift his leg. She is however a tomboy. She likes to roll around with the cats and when she plays lion tamer with her boxer sister she gets slobber all over her. She could use a bath twice a week but I don't want to dry her skin out. |
I have not used it all over for dirt control but it is great to work out a tangle/mat. Mine have thin, silky hair so I think it would be too heavy to leave in their hair. But I like having it to work out tangles before a bath. Rocky still has that wispy thin baby hair and it seems to mat just looking at it. A bottle does last forever! I only use a small dollop on each tangle so I think this bottle will last a lifetime! Very economical. |
I use The Stuff on Mocha every time I brush him. You don't want to brush their hair when it's completely dry because it'll be more prone to breakage/damage. So I spritz The Stuff on him before I brush him. It does a good job of untangling and makes the brushing go smoother. I don't really understand why some people are saying that it is heavy and weighs down the coat  I guess if you spray on a ton of it, it would weigh it down...but if you just do a light spritz, it shouldn't be a problem. My Mocha has fine, thin silky hair. After I spray it and brush it through until it's dry, it doesn't feel heavy or greasy on his coat at all. I also like it because it freshens him up in between baths. I tried the CC Ice on Ice one time because of the rave reviews, but I immediately returned it and went back to using The Stuff. I think if anything, the Ice on Ice is the one that feels heavy and weighs the coat down. They're very similar products, but I found the Ice on Ice to be too greasy/oily feeling. |
