what shampoo and conditioner after parvo My Simcha just got over with a horrible bout with Parvo even though he is a little over a year old. He just got out of the hospital and his coat is extremely dry and damaged feeling. What would be a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for him at this time? |
I've don't think there is a shampoo and conditioner made specifically for stressed out doggies, but I use Tropiclean shampoo (get it at Petsmart, Pet Supplies Warehouse, surely any petstore) and Coconut Suave conditioner. It is a really good combination. I use the Orange Tropiclean w/ Neem oil because it smells really good, but it supposed to help soothe flea and tick bites. The suave doesn't dry out their skin and makes it smell really good! (and it's way cheap!) |
Not much you can do when the coat is already damaged, but I'm sure with good food and vitamins, the coat will grow out to reveal a more healthy one in a few months. ;) |
thanks for the posts ya'all! :) i gave Simcha a bath other day and just used what I had... and gave him a dose of conditioner and it came out real soft. I wasn't even thinking of how the stress affects their coat, I was thinking it was maybe some of the stuff they were giving him in the hospital. But he is better and so is his coat! Now we just need to work on getting some meat back on his bones, but that is coming too! thanks again, I will try out the shampoo and conditioner though! |
