Coat color change yorkies are all different and none change the same, some change earlier and later than others? Tila is 18 months now, and she's really starting to change. She's getting more and more of the grey in her coat. I didn't think she would go through much changes, I thought she was going to stay black and tan, because she's turning so slow. The top of her head is still changing as well. She's not gold yet on her head. I wonder what she'll look like and how much she'll change. It's just a waiting game. There's hope for her yet. :) I'm excited. |
I think they can change up to like a year and a half. We have a few silver/tan Yorkies that are really gorgeous. Look at our pictures of Leah from another thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...nant-self.html She had babies recently, so we'll have to take pictures and update the thread! :D |
Yorkies can continue to change as they grow older. It all depends on their genes and hormones (with females) as to how much they will change and when. I prefer they start to break color later, especially with females, since they tend to hold their color better. |
early color change Morgan is a little over 3 months old now and for quite a while the hair on top of his head has been changing from black to silver. It looks almost white at the roots and makes the little guy appear bald! I want to constantly wash him, since the black tips also make his hair look greasy! But, on the bright side: his ears came up all by themselves! No shaving, no taping, nothing! Still, I'm hoping this "ugly duckling phase" will be over, soon! |
