Comb or Brush?

this question has probably been asked before........ im in the middle of growing Maddie's hair.... my questions is do i use a brush or comb when it gets long. Which is better and why?

Right now im using a comb but her hair is pretty short so its easy... she has a silky coat and is 2 yrs old.

If she has a true silk coat it is very easy to maintain. Brush through with a pin brush...then use the comb.

Never brush a dry or dirty coat. Never comb a wet coat.

I use a brush first then a comb. Remember to never brush them dry use a leave in spray conditioner.

I just got my Madan brush today from mimimomo. I love it! Best is, Lola doesn't mind it at all. She HATES a pin brush.

I never heard of this, so you shouldn't brush them when the hair is dry?

I mist Lola down with Ice on Ice before brushing her. Helps prevent hair breakage.

i've heard of never brushing them when they are dry or dirty but why can't you comb them when they are wet?


To the OP, if you have a grooming session every day i would brush her using a good pin brush like a maden or chris christensen brush. Then i would run a comb over her to make sure you got all the tangles. I use Ice on Ice as well.

It stretches the hair shaft...making it easier to break.
