How often do you bath...your yorkie A friend of mine recently told me her groomer jumped all over her for bathing her 2 inside dogs more than once a month! Is this the norm for all inside dogs? |

I guess it would depend on what breed they are. I don't think I could let my little hairy kids go more than 3 weeks max without a bath :p |
I usually bathe Addie once a week. The most she's gone without a bath is 2 weeks and that's not very often. |
bathing poppy :D poppy has a bath about once a month , if she has been on a lot of walks , and her paws are dirty she needs it :aimeeyork plus she sleeps with us so it is important she is clean :) love jilln poppy xx :animal-pa |
How dirty is an inside dog going to get? If you brush yr dog daily and clean their butts if need maybe once a week. Other than that a bath shld only be once every couple of months. I brush my girls daily, we are outside a lot if weather permits. They will get baths once a month. I will have to wash paws and butts maybe once a week. Just do your brushing daily and you won't have to worry too much about bathing. |
I bathe my litle Fido every week :) |
I bath Sophie :aimeeyork and now will bath Hazel :aimeeyork once a week because they sleep with us and I want a clean, sweet smelling dog everytime I put on clean sheets! I don't think it is overbathing unless you are using a harsh shampoo that strips the hair of its natural oils. The shampoo I use is all organic and has a ph of over 9 so it's really great on yorkie hair and doesn't strip out the natuarl oils. |
Once a week in the summer, every 10 days in the winter. Show dogs every 4 days. |
Maxi gets his baths once a week. :) |

VERY cute Maxi video:thumbup: |
My pups get a bath about once a week. They start to smell too much like "dog" if they go longer than a week without a bath, and because we let them on our furniture I think it's important to keep them bathed & smelling good! |
I bathe mine every two weeks or if needed in between. I also use wipes and leave in conditioners and oils for my two all the time to avoid having a stinker! LOL I have heard several different things but this is what works for us. You have to do what works for you and what is working for yours. |
Ok. Like many of you I bath Maddie every 7-10 days. She too sleeps with us and is everywhere. It seems like she gets a little stink goin on if we go much longer than that. |
I give Isla a bath once every week or two depending on activity and if she gets into anything. Sometimes she just stinks and looks like she needs a bath. |

They get one once every 7-10 days. We use milksheen shampoo and it has been working great for us. |
I bathe mine once a week. I use Minksheen too and love it. I use Biogroom puppy no-tears for their face and head. |
Every 10 days. |
once a week in summer (they play outside alot in the summer) every other week in winter |
Stella gets a bath anywhere between 6-10 days, depends how much yucky wet grass she's played in, how many times she's stepped on other dogs poops, and how many long walks we take when its 95 out, so in other words, as soon as she starts to smell like dog. |
Mine both get a bath once a week, I love that clean puppy smell.:p |
I bathe my yorkie once a week. There hair is very different than other dogs hair. If I don't he get oily and ratty looking! |
I have been bathing Ranger every night or every other. He seems to like going to bed clean and it doesn't make him itchy, so we both are happy in the end :) |
i bath morgan every weekend because her hair gets greasy and dirty looking. when she's cut really short we sometimes go every 10 days but i'm just so used to taking her in teh shower with me every weekend. bathing does not dry out their coat. Depending on what breed the dog and their hair type you may need to use conditioner every time or deep condition every few weeks to add moisture back to the coat. with Morgan's coat i don't use conditioner at all and she's soft as can be. |
Pistol gets a bath every Saturday. He has gone 2 weeks once or twice but he gets greasy looking in a week so I like to bathe him then. |
My girls get bathed once a week ( or more if really needed). I don't like them to be stinky at all when I am snugglin' with them :) |
Couver gets a bath once a week. If I go any longer than that, he starts to look grungy. He sleeps with us and is always on the couch, so I want a clean pup :D |
I usually bathe them once a week, sometimes we go 10 days in winter, but then my sister starts 'suggesting' that they need a bath. I must say, it is great living with my sister. She loves brushing them and fixing their hair, so it makes it easier for me, having to brush two really active dogs daily. I try to go longer in between baths in winter and I try to plan their baths for days that are a little warmer, but if that doesn't happen - which it often does when we have one of our legendary two week rainfalls - I just turn on the heater and make them some warm water bottles (covered in fur) to cuddle with. I use a detangling shampoo and a silky, smooth conditioner. I also spray them with leave-in conditioner before drying. They smell so good after a bath! Ps. I also groom them myself, so with every second bath we do a slight sanitary trim and I cut their nails. |
I bathe my dogs once a week or every two weeks. It depends on how dirty my dogs get and how busy my schedule is. |
Pepper usually gets a bath once a week. In the winter, we usually go a lot longer. |
