what are best clippers for yorkies? Hello id like to groom gizmo myself just curious what have been the best clippers for this job?? |
I have been using Andis clipper's on Buddy for two years with good results. However I am looking for a more comfortable pair with changable blades rather than attached combs which my Andis has. I use the wahl moustache trimmers for butt and between the pads areas. Oster is another good brand. |
If you're just clipping ears, feet, and sanitary you might want to check your local Wal-Mart. I just found a set by Oster that is pink with a yorkie on the box. Even though I have several mini-clippers I couldn't resist these being pink and with a yorkie :) Oh, they were only $22, I believe, not a bad price for Oster. A good friend, YorkieRose found them in her hometown and told me about them. |
I use the Oster clippers with a #5 blade on Kayla body. Scissor around her bottom. |
Since I only trim Ben and leave his hair long, I use the Wahl Peanut trimmer. I bought it at Sally's Beauty Supply. It is as powerful as the big clippers but a handy little size. I really want to buy a cordless clipper with interchangeable blades. There are good models in most of the name brands -- Geib, Oster, Andis, and Wahl. Just depends on what you want to spend and how much power you want. I also look at how heavy they are. I am very slow at grooming and some of the clippers are heavy enough to make my wrist sore. If you do a search for clippers here in the Grooming Talk Forum, you will get a full day's reading on them. |
