THE PAINS of long coat. 1 Attachment(s) I am keeping my Granddaughter's 6 month old Pom and he loves playing with Tricksie's hair and what a mess he makes of it. Just spent 45 min. brushing and I do it everyday. She is so good about it. |
LOL look at the look on your grand pom's face:p He seems to be thinking, Let me at it, let me at it! Tricksie is beautiful. I give you prompts for keeping her coat so pretty. I gave up and shaved Bud down keeping the long hair on his legs, head and shorter on his face too. I couldn't keep up with it. He's so big and there was sooooooo much hair to keep up with. Her coloring is beautiful. |
Thank you. Sometime I am tempted to have it cut off, she is 8 lbs. but thick hair. |

She has a beautiful coat. What are you using for shampoo, conditioner, oils/sprays? Quote:

I know what you mean about spending so much time making them all pretty and then the other dogs make a mess of them! I have a Jack Russel that thinks she is a Yorkie. Her and my Yorkie Ben are inseparable buddies. But she makes Ben smell like a dog with all her licking and play biting when they wrestle. She is always very gentle with Ben but he can sometimes get too rough with her. Still, it is his hair that takes a lickin'. Pun intended! And keeping a bow in has been impossible. I have just ordered some new bows and am going to try again. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can talk Candy into leaving them in. Maybe she is a little jealous because she has such a short coat that won't allow for bows. |

My little Lillie has a coat like that. It was gorgeous! It was so long that it would drag on the floor. I used to trim the bottom just enough so it wouldn't drag. Lillie does not have a really thick coat. EVERYTHING would get caught in her hair. As much as I hated to do it I gave her a hair cut. I used a 1 1/4 in guide and clipped her....myself! And I have to say I didn't do a bad job....He hair isn't really short but just short enough to not matt...I do miss the flowing long coat but this is so much easier to take care of. |

Do you have a pic of the new cut? Would love to see it. |

Sadie is on the left...She doesn't have a very nice coat...doesn't grow very long and is rather coarse...Clipping her was the best thing I did for her...She looks SO much better and her coat is actually softer. Lillie on the other hand would matt terribly...Even though I would brush her every day. I am not sorry that I did this..I do like the long coats better but, as you know they are A LOT of work. I am going to clip them again at their next bath...this time I think I am going to trim around their faces a little more. What do you think? |
