Cut fur when? I asked this question in the general forum and evidently no one knew the answer! (Sorry, I had never noticed the grooming forum here before.) Our vet does not want us to take our Yorkie to the groomer until she has had all her shots. My question is straight to the point... When do you start trimming the hair/fur that grows on the bottom of her paw around the pad? Is there some "rule of thumb" that you go by or something? Either everyone knows this answer and thinks I should (!) or no one who's read it knows either. Surely someone knows something to help me...I never even knew they grew hair/fur there until a few weeks ago! I can always ask our breeder and I will if someone here doesn't answer me. It's just that I feel so ignorant having to ask everything...LOL I haven't seen the "when" addressed in any of the books I've read...they only mention to do it. Thanks in advance... |
If my breeder hasn't trimmed the pads...I do....so it's much earlier than a professional grooming appointment. |
If your baby haven't received all is shot yet, he is probably to young to go to the groomer. Wait until he reach 6 months + But you can trimmed the pup of the feet yourself, but be really careful. You can also buy baby scissor so you won't poke the little feet. |
I use a small cordless Wahl mustache trimmer for the pads, works great!! The earlier you get your baby used to it, the better for everyone, lol Really what I look for is if I can't see the full footpads when I lift their foot, its time to trim the hair :) |
