Yorkie or Silky? About 3 years ago I purchased a Yorkie Poo. I was told that here mom was a Yorkie Poo and the dad was pure Yorkie. So here she is: Hair Cut: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3590/...a17872.jpg?v=0 Long Hair: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3421/...1778ef.jpg?v=0 So what do you think? She is about 10 pounds, Very thin does not gain weight very much eats very well. She is just long and tall. |

She is adorable!!! Oh you can tell she has Yorkie in her for sure! 10lbs isnt too big....depending on how big her daddy was....its probably the poodle in her that makes her a bit larger. But if her daddy was a bigger Yorkie..she would of been that big anyway. She is a cutie :p |
She has Yorkie in her, but Poodle not to sure. And silky is a great possibility. That's a hard one. Have you taken her to the vet and asked them? |

Is she ever cute! I just love her! |
She's cute!! If you want to know 100%, ask if your vet does the breed DNA testing. One of my co-workers adopted a dog at the humane society and wanted to know what all breeds she was--she was very shocked to see bedlington terrier on the list!!! The dog looked like a black german shepherd. |
She's got such a cute expression wearing her sunglasses! Our guy is a supposed to be a yorkipoo also and we've heard lots of comments about how long he is...maybe part doxie...more like silky than yorkie. Whatever he is, we love him enormously for all he's brought into our lives and think you feel the same about your furbaby. |
It's hard to tell. I do think she got some yorkie. |
Thanks ladies you have been of help. I went to a Pet Expo to sell some of my products and I tock Amber with me. Some of the Breeders told me that she was too big to be Yorkie. I know that, I was told by the seller of her that she was Yorkie Pooh and so I never thought anything about it tell they told me that she maybe more silky. I was a little shocked. I have read so much on Yorkies and to me Amber has more of the colors that Yorkie has. Her underneath hair is Brown on her head and her body has the black underneath the silver. If I was to get her cut these are the colors you would see. I have also read that the silver blue color is common in Yorkies, this is how you know that you have a Yorkie. Am I right?? I just wanted to make sure because I was planning on going to another show and take her with me. I wanted to be able to tell the sellers that I looked into it and she is Yorkie Pooh and not Silky. I don't know much about Silkies so if you'll do please educate me and tell me if she is. My husband said that he thinks Amber weighs more then 10 he said maybe 12 I have no idea I just know that to me she is not that heavy. |
There are bigger yorkies out there ;) The standard is 7lbs and under though. Maybe your little sweetheart is a Silky Pooh? I have know idea? I do know that Amber looks adorable :D She is so cute . I like the idea of taking her to the vet for a DNA test. But, I think she is is perfict no matter what. |
Yeah next time we go I was going to ask about that. It is deffently a good idea. |
I also have a yorkie poo. His daddy is a yorkie poo, his momma full bred toy poodle. Tucker in my opioion looks identical to a yorkie except for his coloring. He does have a tad bit of curly hair on him. Tucker is alittle over 5 pounds. When asked what kind of dog he is after I tell them, I hear he's a yorkie mix, he's too big, or he looks like a little snauzer (sp?) are you sure that he has yorkie in him?? |

Anyways your baby is a cutie pie and he looks like a yorkiepoo to me. :D oh and i added a picture so you can see him. :) |
Another reason for being bigger could be that the parent that's a Yorkipoo was part Miniature Poodle, instead of a toy poodle. Also, there are some Yorkies that are bigger even though it's not the "standard." Definitely looks part Yorkie, though. |
