Grooms with scissors - frustrated/upset Morning :) I'm trying to keep Heidi looking halfway decent, with the weather changes and so forth. I don't have a clipper set, but I have a ruler and scissors and nail clippers. I measure 2" from her backbone. No matter how short I keep her nails or her hair, she still gets her nails caught in her hair. She has mainly dark nails; I am very careful when I trim them and her coat. I came in a few minutes ago to tell her goodbye before work, and she had her nails caught again. The hair gets twisted around them too, especially the back ones, when she scratches. I worry that this will happen when no one's home, and she'll be stuck for a long time. So far that hasn't been the case, but there's always a first time. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Theresa |
You might try filing her nails after clipping them. I've used one of the acrylic nail files for this and it works great. Now, I try to use the Peticure tool after nail clipping, to keep the nails smooth. |
Yes. I would file her nails down also. It sounds like they are still a bit long. |
Agree with the others. File the nails. |
