Do any of you all use this to smooth back the top hair above the eyes when it gets long~? I know it's time for a cut and groom, but I am not ready just yet. In the beginning I used it since I wanted to grow his hair long. Also, I was told that the show dog folks use it.

What is a "top-knot"~? Whenever the groomer has put a ribbon to tie back his hair above his eyes, he has managed to get it out. He doesn't like anything on his head, especially when I am brushing/combing it.

thats what a "topknot" is, pretty much a pony tail on the top of the head. My toy poodle doesnt like them either, she will rub her head over and over agian to get it out so I just keep the hair on her head short. Tucker my yorkie mix doesnt care either way. :) Ive never heard of anyone using baby oil or gel to keep the hair back and out of the eyes, hopefully someone will have some advice for you. :)

Like hugz4all4 said, it's pretty much just a ponytail on the top of their head. You can get small grooming rubberbands, or small scrunchies to put it up in. If it's really not long enough to make a ponytail you can also get barrets to use until then. If you use the scrunchies or barrets, just be sure to supervise him until he's use to them and will leave them alone.

And the topknot gel works fabulously!! :)

1&2) small metal barrets that I found at Claire's Boutique in the mall
3&4) small scrunchies that I found at the Dollar Tree store

Top knots look so sweet but what about on the boys, my hubby reckons it would be a bit poofy:)

I use the Pet Silk Topknot Gel too. They don't have it Petsmart. I get mine from Petedge. Here's a link to it ...

As long as you dont use pink, he'll be fine,the scrunchies from the 1 store are great,you can also use bows, some of YT members make them and are very masculine.
