You need blade oil and blade cleaner. It is important to use both after every use to keep your clipper a its best! you also need lots and lots of treats :D |

The only input I can give is: DO NOT clip a dirty dog, it will dull your blades faster than anything -- wash and thoroughly dry before clipping. That was a hard lesson learned from the days that we did parades and parties with the miniatures. Clipping dirty animal = dull blades. |
I do my own grooming - I have 2 Chinese Crested Powderpuff boys and we just adopted a 6 month old Biewer girl. My home grooming tips would be: -Vacuum & Clean and oil your blades after each use and put them away -Vacuum & Oil your clipper -Get some blade cooler spray, so that you never overheat your blade and cause razor burn -Use a #10 blade (or #8) for pads, sanitary, etc. Always watch for overheating. I have multiple blades so I can swap out if need be -I really like the Ceramic Blades - stay cooler, longer I just bought an Andis to keep at my mom's house for touch up grooming her female CC Puff when I'm over there. Got it at Sally Beauty and it came with a set of comb attachments and is very nice and was $69.99. Mari |
