Need help with grooming clippers Hey guys, I need some help on buying grooming clippers and I know this is the place to find it. lol. I am going to start grooming Lucky myself and have some cheap clippers that I hate. I have been looking at the Andis AGC2 Ultra Edge Professional clippers. Do any of you use these? If not then what is the best kind in your opinion. Also I was look at different blades and have noticed they make like a 4 and one that is a 4fc. Does anyone know the difference? Any feedback would be appreciated as I know alot of you groom your babies yourself. Thanks, Betsy & Lucky |
I bought a DVD from: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...oming-dvd.html In the DVD, Sue gives you some great recommendations for all of the grooming equipment you will need, including clippers, blades, scissors, etc. I believe she recommends the Oster Golden A5 clipper (Petedge). Also, the No.10 blade is the one most often used with yorkies. I bought the Oster Powermax, which is fine for the grooming I do - if I were a professional I would have probably chose the Golden A5. There isn't much difference though between the two styles of clippers. The DVD is worth the $$, if she is still offering them, I would recommend getting one.:) |

If Lucky is good for you to trim him now, he'll do great with you completely grooming him too. The initial expense for the proper tools isn't cheap, but then the cost of every other month grooming does add up. By home grooming you'll save enough to pay for the tools in no time! ETA: great - I'm glad you got the DVD! You'll have to update and let us know how it goes. |
