Can cotton coat be grown long I really need to know |
Of course it can. I have two cotton coated dogs, but Azrael's is extremely thick so I like it short. Razaels is thin, so it isn't difficult to manage. |
Holly's hair is really thick cotton, it tangles terribly so I am pretty much forced to keep it short. I am growing out her topknot so she at least looks like a Yorkie from the neck up!:D |
Yes they can. I have 2 cottony coated ones and they are in full coat. It's just a little harder to manage. |
Yes, but I have found it grows very, very slowly. Sailor is cotton coated and I am letting her hair grow. (Due to allergies and her very dark black color being very hot in the warm weather when she is outside, I have had to cut it in the past.....but so far so good for the last 6 months.) |
Rylie has a soft coat and it grows very quickly and is about 2 1/2in from the floor now. It can definitely be grown and kept long. |
miss buffey has a very soft cottony coat and i keep it short for my sake (and hers :p ... when it was long she was soooo dramatic whenever i had to comb out any matts ;) ) her hair grows extremely fast...wish it would grow slower :p |
Suzi is my very first Yorkie, so bare with me.... I think she has a cotton coat too. Her coat is very soft , but not too thick . SHe matts easily underneath. i have to work hard on keeping that from happening. He is 9 months old and has not reached her full coloring. I've noticed that underneath her coat is more silver gray , but, on top she is black. Her face has the silver gray and so does her paws. I think she is beautiful looking. It is just very difficult to keep her from matting underneath. I bought a special dematter comb and condioner last night. AND in the afternoon gave Suzi a trim. I trimmed her hind quarters, and around her face. Suzi was very good throughout the process, yet she ran away from me afterwards. But, she forgave me so thereafter. Are cotton coats harder to maintain ? |

Hi - I have one with a cotton coat and I cut her down in the summer because of the heat. Her hair grows very slow - I just wish everyday that it would grow. I figured I am not going to cut her for a while just to see how long it does take. |
Mia is a cotton coat. Her hair grows really fast. I found that after she lost her puppy coat that if I use the metal comb when she's about 3/4 the way dry - she doesn't get near the matts that Max does - and he's a combination or modified. |
