Purple Shampoo? A while back I was given a sample of shampoo..... it was dark purple and it was very concentrated.....I don't know what the name of it was so if anyone knows of a higher end shampoo that is dark purple I would appreciate knowing what it is........Thank you...:) |
Is it shampoo for a dog or person? |
It's dog shampoo.....:) |
If your talking about for dogs its probably White on white, some people call it purple, i call it a dark blue. For people, you can get a shampoo called shimmer lights. I use it on my blonde hair to keep the yellow out. i also use both on Nicholas' white hair, it takes out the stains. |

white on white is for white dogs |
You can use on any dog. Its a great shampoo. All their products are great. Chris Christensen Products |
this is what it says about it on Chris Christensen website, I'd imagine it could be used on any dog, but to me, after reading, I would only use it on a white dog HOW WHITE ON WHITE WORKS - When dealing with white hair the only way to completely remove discoloration is usually bleach, but since bleach and/or peroxide damages the canines coat permanently (or should we say until it falls out) we do not want to be bleaching. Instead we are going to the other end of the color spectrum and depositing pigment, drabbing yellow. What we are drabbing yellow with is 37 different color pigments and due to White On White's molecular structure being so tinny, we are able to remove discoloration under the cuticle lens and deposit pigment in one application without opening the cuticle lens through bleach, but depositing through the cracks and crevices. Example: The diminutive molecular structure of all of Chris Christensen Systems treatments are like White On White being the golf ball versus a basketball, the molecular structure of Chris Christensen systems treatments are so tiny that they can go under the cuticle lens and clean and deposit pigment without the use of harsh chemicals like bleach and peroxide. The long term effects of using products with bleach or peroxide are detrimental and irreversible and you also do not want to use dyes for they do not go under the cuticle lens, dyes lay on top of the lens therefore dulling the coat in appearance and also rubbing off on Judges hands. |
All whitening shampoos are purple or blue. Many year ago, old ladies used to use "blueing" on their white hair to get the yellow tinge out. Whitening shampoos are great for Maltese, but I wouldn't use one on a Yorkie. Why not try Chris Christensen's Gold on Gold? White On White |
i use purple shampoo(paul mitchell & schwarzkopf) on my hair! :D i'm a blonde! ;) |
I didn't read through the posts so Im sorry if this is repetative. It's a shampoo for white dogs. They make a shampoo for people like this too that have white hair or blond hair. It keeps the brass out of the hair. John Paul Pet Shampoo has one that I use on my Tia. Tia is 1/2 Maltese and 1/2 Yorkie and has the blond hair. It works wonderful. I do mix this though with some conditioning shampoo which I find works well. Hope this helps. Elaine |
The only shampoo I can think of that is purple is Coat Handler. I have a bottle and it is dark purple. |

Coat Handler How are you applying the conditioner? I have been leaving the full concentration in for 5 minutes after each bath but wonder what else I should do. She is losing her puppy coat and gets fuzzy's stuck in her fur and matts quite easily. I am trying some sprays to keep her fur from matting but would like to know if you or someone has been using the conditioner diluted to spray on afterward or something else. Thanks! Quote:

Yes, I leave some in Toto's coat. Sometimes I just apply the concentrate [about 2 tablespoons] all over with my hands and then just add a little water and massage her all over. [you can feel it when it is distributed well] Sometimes I dilute about 2 tablespoons to a cup of water and spray it throughout her hair, massage her coat and leave it in. Let us know how it works for you! :) [Always brush all the mats out before bathing. I brush Toto before and after her bath.] |
Applying Coat Handler Thanks, I'll try to spray it on and leave it in after her next bath. I used to do that when she was a pup but have since sprayed it on and then towel-dryed her. I'll try to spray it after towel-drying and see if it helps. I also put in a little olive oil after her last bath, the size of a quarter in my hand, as was suggested on another posting and that really seemed to help. Thanks! Quote:
