something fishy
 
so everytime i come home from work my Lilo gets excited and when i pick her up she always has bad breath like fish.. even her whiskers and paws stink, so i gave her a bath but lately everytime i come home she smells like that.... why ? i dont know how? i dont know so im worried that washing her all the time is not good for her hair..... um i dunno i need tips? help me hehe:aimeeyork

What part of her smells fishy? Just her breath? or her skin too?

I don't have any suggestions but I also noticed fishy smells on Sebastian as well. It's not all the time though. I'm trying to pinpoint why but I can't seem to figure it out. Sometimes his breath smells more foul than other times and his bottom will have a fish smell. I'm totally dumb founded too. :confused:

im thinking maybe her food coz she was on puppy food and we recently switched to adult (royal canin) but i dunno.....:confused:

thats excatly what i did i inspected her mouth nothing and all her baby teeth are out....... grrr

I've read that dogs whose anal glands are full sometimes have a fishy smell. While Joey never had the fishy smell, his symptom was scooting his bottom on the floor. The vet said that sometimes puppies don't push hard enough to empty their glands, and they need manual help. You can see if this is the problem, and the area around the anus will be slightly puffy. The vet showed me how to empty the glands, and he eventually outgrew it, but the contents of the glands is very fishy smelling. I wonder if she's licking her bottom?

Sometimes if their eyes tear alot theie faces can smell if you don't wash every day.

cadee is like that if she runs around in the yard. i think its the skin pores on them. only thing i think of. i have her washed weekly, her anal glands monthly, food is science diet so i think thats it lol. she plays though so hard she ends up looking like tina turner and smelling like nemo. im up for suggestions too!

My little Hansbro's face smells like wet dog sometimes and I think maybe it is from drinking his water and getting his mustach wet. I am trying to teach him to drink from a water bottle.
