Shaving my Doggie Well I've just read too many darn grooming horror stories...now I'm scared to take my Winston into a groomer. I took him to the breeder + she did his first grooming but she said he was mortified the entire time, and it really just terrified my little fuy. So... I'd prefer at this point to at least give it a shot. I figure... It's just hair ;) It grows back ... right? I bought some clippers. My little guy is ALL matted up (mommy's fault, I know) and so I"m going to have to shave most of him ..which is fine. But I have no idea how to even start this. Should I just go at it? His face is okay...amost no matting, just needs a bit of a trim. Does anyone have any tips or anything to give me a head start? :D Thanks!! |
You can Google it, You tube has some videos, there are some videos on the grooming forums ,also there is a member that has a great grooming dvd for sale. Good luck |
Well. I gave him a cut!! Came out much better than I expected. He was patient for the most part...got a bit iffy when I was working around his face but I got most of him shaved and trimmed up fine!! Unfortunatley the clippers got very hot and I had to stop before I was completetely done but I just have a few touch ups to make and that's about it. Its true when people say grooming your pooch can be a bonding experience :) |
