Cutting Pixie's 'Curtains'... Pixie has a very long coat and i'm thinking of cutting her hair a bit shorter so it's easier to manage especially with all the wet weather we seem to have here in the uk!:thumbdown I don't want it too short though..She has long hair on her body that parts down the middle of her back and falls into 'curtains' either side..I have no idea how to go about cutting it without risking making a complete hash of it! I think i'm ok with cutting her facial hair now..thanks to Marcerella02's great grooming video's on here:thumbup: I basically don't really want to use clippers on her but scissor cut her all over and maybe layering the hair on her body a bit:confused:..I am thinking about taking her to a groomer because i'm so worried about ruining it myself! but after my last experience with a groomer i'm naturally very cautious! Anyone have any good yorkie grooming video's they could post that would maybe help me out?:D |
Well..I chickened out and decided NOT to cut her hair myself...a friend that has 2 Bichon's that she adores has their hair cut by a great groomer that she highly recommends:thumbup: This particular groomer likes you to drop your baby off in the morning so she can spend a bit of time with the dog getting to know them before she starts cutting their hair...sounds like a good idea to me:thumbup:...I will be really nervous leaving her there though...I'll see how it goes..I hope i'm doing the right thing!...Pixie's hair has just got so long..and the awful weather we seem to get such alot of here is not helping at all..everytime she goes outside to toilet she is getting so wet!:thumbdown I have tried to encourage her to go on a pad when the weather is bad but she just won't have it! she stands there looking at me all wide-eyed and confused!:p I'm not having it cut too short..I will leave her head hair long so she can still have her ponytail..and I will re-grow her body hair in the spring...I'm soooo nervous about doing this! I'll post pictures of the end result anyway...she is booked in for friday 12th sept! |
