Shaving their nose? I've been told not to shave the bridge of their nose, as the hair will never grow back the same and will be prickly and hard to control. However, I'm still considering it 'cause Mocha always has hair in his eyes and it causes a bit of tearing/watering. I've heard that it keeps their face much cleaner when you shave the bridge of their nose. I was wondering who shaves it and who leaves it? Which do you prefer? |
I shave the nose on all of mine but Darla! I like the look as it is easier to keep their face clean. |
Thanks for your input :) I was also wondering, do you have to trim or shave that area often since it grows in a little prickly? Quote:

The groomer usually shaves Lilly's nose but I'm letting it grow out now, I hate how it gets whenever it's grown out some and she needs to go to the groomer so I'm just going to let it grow. I like the look of it grown out way better than I do it shaved. |
That's exactly what I was worried about. I figured it would always get to be a funny length as it grows out. But when people say that it keeps their face cleaner, that's what really appeals to me lol. Quote:

The groomer shaved Kaba's and it was amazing how much it changed her face. Before that, I'm amazed she saw anything going on because her eyes were blocked with so much hair. Now, she can see and has less eye gunk and i like the look it gives her face. |
No, I let all the hair grow out long so I can pull it back in a topknot and the hair on the nose lays flat. It takes a while to grow out but is so worth it! It's amazing how much better Lacy's face looks since I let the hair between her eyes grow. |
I would never shave the nose, I know many groomers who do this, but I don't care for the look. I use to cut Joey's in a fan shape, but decided to let it grow, I wish I had started as a puppy, but it's grown quite a bit in the last couple of months, and I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Someone told me about Pet Silk Topknot gel for holding those little hairs out of the eyes while it grows out. I love this stuff, and it not like human gels or sprays, it really works, and it's safe for their eyes. So I would say, if you are planning on having a topknot, you should grow this hair out. |

Tiki's first grooming was last week and they shaved her nose. I sure wish they hadn't, it makes her nose look long and thin and eyes very far apart.... kinda looks like a little deer. I much prefer the softer fluffier baby face. |
