Brushing for a Puppy Hello all! :wavey: Little Zoe is almost 12 weeks old and she needs some proper grooming supplies. I went to buy her brush(es) and a comb but there were just too many options, I wasn't sure what would be best. I've read as much as I could on here as far as what people recommend. General consensus seems to place Chris Christensen products as the preferred line. That said, Zoe is just so tiny, a flea comb from the pet store that was $1, is almost the perfect size for her small body. I know she should probably have a comb and a pin brush, but I've also hear about slicker brushes and buttercombs, and have no idea the difference between any of it! I'm not necessarily in a position to invest in brushes/combs, especially if I'm buying something that'd be too big for her! So, as far as a tiny (2.5 pounds right now) little puppy goes, what should she have? Thanks! -Vicky |
I think a metal comb and a small pin brush is fine to start with You just want to keep any grooming experience pleasant for her so she will get used to it and not be afraid |
Also get a detaingler spray |
I might have misspoken, let me try my thinking on this once again. I don't want to invest in combs/brushes, but I will if it's the best thing to do. My hesitancy, other than price, is that she's so small I don't want to spend a LOT of money on something that won't be useful (at least for right now) or something that'll be useful now but not in the not too distant future. Look at Petedge. They have alot of grooming products. Later on if you grow out his coat you might want to invest in CC brushes and combs. They are really the best |

Keeping in mind she's a puppy now and I will always be keeping her in a puppy cute once she's grown, would it ever make sense to invest in CC brushes? |
