A Mohawk 3 Attachment(s) Teddy's hair is pretty thick and really really long already(the topknot). I always have it up in a ponytail so it's not in his eyes but i was wondering if it's possible to get like a mohawk cut on him. Do you think if it get's cut short, it will stay up with doggie products or do you think it will fall down anyway??? Or do you just think this is a silly question lol I just thought it would be cute. I saw a girl and her dog had a mohawk but he was a chinese crested...right now Teddy's hair falls straight down but it is long so im thinking that is why. When he was a puppy it would stick out everywhere...any thoughts? It's just so long right now i can braid it, i dont want to just chop it off, if i cut it i want it to be a cute mohawk..heres some pics...the top part is longer than that by now tho.. |
anybody home?????????? lol anyone? |
When Storm was only 3 to 4 months old, I would fix his hair in a mohawk. I can't anymore as it is getting so long, but I am interested in this answer too. My husband refuses to let me put his hair in little hair bands (not even a bow). He says Sotrm is a boy dog! Good question here!! |
I wanted to do the same thing with Brady. I think his hair would stay up because it has so much body on it's own, it's kind of curly! I asked our groomer if he thought it would work and because his hair is so unruly he thought it would not look so great on him! I say if Teddys hair can be trimmed just right a mohawk would look really cute but, if his hair is fine and would fall down I would be careful! His hair looks cute as it is, but then of course it's only hair and it will grow back! |
Try it! It will always grow back. I think it might look cool. A friend of mine did that with her dog (not a Yorkie) and it was so cute. |

Thanks! Yea im not too worried, his hair seems to grow fast so im willing to try it. I just dont want to shave it all, i dont like short hair on the head on yorkies but thats just me lol His hair is straight but i wouldnt say fine, its pretty thick, much thicker than both my girls so thats what makes me think it MIGHT stay up. i think tho that i would still have to use some type of product to help it. And i dont think it can be that long:rolleyes: |

I attempted to do this with Slade this weekend. It would stay up when he was a puppy but I could just not get him in a mohawk this wknd. So I ended up cuttiing most of his top knot off out of frustration. :( My mom's yorkie/chi has a natural mohawk. Her hair only grows to about 3 inches on top, but its really light and fluffy hair so I doesn't take much to get it to stick up. I'm on my way to bed now, but if I get a chance tomorrow I'll post Slade and Schatzies 'hawks. |

do it!! post some pics!! :p hehe. i would for sure do it if i had a lil boy-it'll grow if you dont like it! ;) Maybe you can cut it in stages.. Trim the length first(so its still all pretty much one length) Then, separate the hair into the mohawk section you want & try styling it to see how it goes.. (you'll be able to see how well it will stay before cutting the sides so much shorter) ..that way you dont have to make the commitment of shaving it all off if you dont like it or it doesn't work? -you can just have it shorter but still all the same length?) dont know if that made sense-sorry!  either way.. i say do it! teddy will be such a lil stud! hehe. :p |

Pixie has really straight hair but the texture is stiff and I keep her front cut short and I think if I cut it like that all the way back it would stand up like a mohawk. Maybe try cutting the front and see how well it stands up. |
I love the mohawk in the pic. If I had a boy I would do it for sure! |
I love the picture of the mohawk. I bet it would be cute and different |
