Babies with bows? I see pictures everywhere with young pups that have bows in their hair. Could someone please tell me what to use to hold a bow in? Thanks Betty |
I use an ouchless rubber band covered in fabric from Goody and then secure it with a tiny clip Accessories - Claws ; Clips - Girls <-- like these mini-claws. |
Thank for the reply and the links. My Ceci is only 6 weeks and 5 days old. She does not have enough hair to pull up. I just want to get her used to wearing a bow but can't figure out how to keep it in. I have tried clip on berets but they just slide out. Betty |

Thanks for the link Nancy. Good information. Betty |
Barrettes and clips are a choking hazard and shouldn't be used on puppies. A friend's Yorkie Angel died after swallowing a barrette. A little latex band to catch up the hair is the best way to train your puppy to get used to bows. Bands stay in better than barrettes and since they are lighter, most puppies tolerate them better. |
Thanks LadyMom. I love your site. I will bookmark it and order some of your bows when CeCi is older. I will try the rubber bands for now. I got some very tiny ones at WalMart. Betty |
:aimeeyorkI always use my daughters tiny ouchless rubber bands, but they still tend to pull her hair out. Her hair also breaks from them. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong. I like clips better.:aimeeyork |
i use the little tiny rubberbands i get from the dollar stores and then i usually put a clawclip or a barette over it so it stays.. |
Thanks everyone I will give all suggestions a try. Betty |
