Goodness. I think I would definetly let the owner know that is not okay. She may have worked with that person for a long time, but by not saying anything everyone may be making her think that is ok. This will make her aware that we do not find that acceptable, and let her know you have been a customer for a long time but you will not support such practices. Like mentioned before we are advocates for animals, because they can't talk. if that was my baby i would hope someone would come to her aide. |
You were very pleasant  I may have not been able to keep my mouth shut. so I agree with every one else...talk to the owner... I am glad I groom my on babies... I would have given them a piece of my mind... hoped I wouldnt have gotten beat up...but they would have had an earful...and my babies couldnt ever go back unless they allowed me to wait. |
oh my. im the type of person who would have confronted the woman right there, and then proceeded to march up front and demand to see the owner. Nothing infuriates me more than to see someone abuse an animal. What this woman is doing isnt right. I dont care if she has been there 25 years. i would talk to the owner, then if she refuses to do anything about it i would NOT be taking my dog back there, and i would tell her that you will tell everyone you know about the abusive groomer. ahhh but thats just me-all spit and fire lol.. i hope you at least talk to the owner, the dog deserves that much. |
Talk to the owner and tell her you will not support her establishment if she continues to allow an abusive groomer to work for her- Speak up for the dogs that can't speak!!!! Please!!! |

I hope that every dog she grooms....bites her! Especially hope the mistreated one you witnessed bit her. |

Whenever the "well being" of anything is at stake, always, always speak up to someone that could have some influence to change things!!! Too many ppl think "Well I'm not gonna say anything", therefore everything stays the same... |
That is so wrong!!! I am a groomer and I also own my own shop and have a staff. We have a golden rule if you are feeling frustrated time to kennel the pup and take a water break and start over nice and cool. Losing your temper with a dog does NOTHING positive. Telling a dog to 'shut up' and 'STOP IT' teaches them nothing! We also have a large plexi glass window people can watch their dogs being groomed and it is visable from the street too. I tell people I have nothing to hide. Not that I am a big beliver but I remind my staff if a a true animal pysci ever walked in and talked to the animals you are grooming what would they say?? I would prefer, 'Yes I hate grooming but they don't hurt me, they do try...' We get dogs in now and then from another groomer who has a rep for being 'rough'...these dogs all react the same, the shudder and they tense their bodies for certain parts of the grooming, they NEVER wag their tails. We go so gently with these dogs and coax and praise them like crazy. Nothing makes me feel sick then a dog who is GOOD and well behaved fear grooming...I love it when they come for the third consecutive grooming and it is like a whole new dog they are more confident, wag their tails and finally realize that we will not hurt them and some even enjoy the experience. There are too many groomers in the industry who should NOT be grooming, they need incredible patience, gentle hands and a true love for their craft. |
oh heck....I would have handled it right then and there But, hey, I have learned that if I dont deal with things like this right away, then I stress about it all night.... I would not only talk to the owner, but also recommend that this person go thru additional training or find a new job... OMG some nerve., |
This is also a helpful review! Thank you very much for posting this question! I was just doing a search for a local groomer by using the search word "Washington". I found this after my failed attempt on the Groomers, etc Reviews section. Why is this not linked there? Or even moved? I just checked their website and the owner's description includes "Marne is our resident cat groomer willing to handle even the hardest to handle cats." Now THAT gets one's mind wondering, doesn't it? *shudders* I live in Lynnwood and like to know what businesses to avoid wherever they are in the state. Thanks again! May all your groomer experiences be happy ones.:animal-pa |
