How do u keep em still to give a little haircut? I just wanted to trim Chewie's "eyebrows" because they were so long just until I can get him to a groomer. He bobbed and weaved better than Muhammed Ali! I couldn't hold onto him for nothin'! How do groomers keep these little boogers still while trimming them? |
Groomers probably do what I do. Have somone help hold them. LOL I trimmed three of mine down for the summer...and I needed my daughter to help hold two of the three so I didn't mess up or accidently hurt one of them. Oh...I still messed up...but I am happy to report that no one was hurt in the process. :D |
I start training at a young age to stand for me to groom.. they never like it.. but I do not let them win.. when good I put a treat there and say good boy/girl when they are small... then work some more and even if it is only a few minutes.. then they get a treat.. they soon learn if they stand still they will get a tiny treat.. just have patience and let these little furbutts know you mean business.. then love them and praise them the whole time..anne |
get some help That is what us groomers do alright! lol Once your doggie is used to it, you will not need thje help. If you have no one willing to help you, then do what groomers do when there are not enough hands to help out...get a "grooming noose" which is a quick release type of leash/collar setup used on grooming tables. You can hook it up to a cupboard pull or a hook on a utility room wall. It keeps your pet on the table and gives you more control. Sue & Cricket :aimeeyork Quote:
