Pettysmith | 04-30-2008 06:26 PM | I have a teapot, Gizmo, who is 11 years old. He has always had a sensitive stomach and for the first 8 years of his life had to eat a prescription food by Eukanuba for sensitive stomachs. I work for a vet and that is what he told me I needed to do and it did keep his tummy calm. However, these foods don't have any oils to help their coats so his has been dry and he has plenty of coat. The groomer always said he had enough for two yorkies. I tried fatty acids and they helped and over the years he has outgrown most of his tummy problems. But - I got a new puppy in November and really wanted to feed them the same thing. I switched to Canidae because it is an all life stages food. I cannot believe the difference in his coat in just 5 months. He has the prettiest coat he has ever had. I had not told anyone at the clinic I had switched and the groomer kept asking what I was giving him for his coat because it looked so much better. Working for a vet I always knew a good food made a big difference in you dog but this is a "big" difference. Both he and Barkley (the puppy) have the shinest coats you would ever want. Also Gizmo has had trouble in the past with itchy skin. Especially when the seasons changed and he was shedding his coat. Have not seen this dog scratch in 4 months. Try it. |
