Help - I need supplies and everyones help Hi all i have a yorkie she is about 7 months old. I bathe her about once a week and have not been the best at brushing her and her coat was very matted underneath so they shaved it off. I am going to let it grow back now and need to get some supplies to keep it smooth and not matted. Please give me shampoo, conditioner and brush ideas. Also let me know the tricks to keeping it from matting up. Thanks:( |
Buddy has a silky coat and I have been keeping his back shaved with longer face, legs, tail and chest. I love Cranberry Fields Shampoo & Conditioner, Minksheen or PetSilk Sampoo & Conditioner. All three work really well for him. For tangles I spray Ice on Ice on him after he is dry from his bath and comb through the long hair. I don't use a brush I use a steel comb with rounded edges on it. I personally find on Buddy it works much better. I hope this helps some. |
I responded to another thread of yours, and suggested Cowboy Magic Detangler and Shine for matting problems. I also think it's good to have a fine tooth comb that is used after brushing paying extra attention to the underarms and groin area. Sometimes we don't brush close enough to the skin to get all the tangles out, and they turn into mats. |
I just use a regular brush on Joey because those pin brushes seem so sharp, but lots of people have recommended the Chris Christensen pin brush, and say it's not sharp. They sell about 40 different ones and some are good for short hair and some long. I'm still researching exactly which one, and haven't decided yet. Maybe someone will coment. |
