My first cut and I`m very worried about the result my yorkie is due for her first cut. What is the difference between a short hair cut and the puppy hair look cut? I would like to see her with short hair but not shaved, are there any other types of cuts. What about the eyes and ears and special recommandations. thanks in adavance |
If you don't want your Yorkie cut too short, sometimes you have to ask for a hand cut that costs more. The groomer will then just use the scissors like a hair dresser to cut the pups hair. If they use the clipper the cut will usually be shorter because the combs they attach to the clipper only come in certain sizes. I had to find a new groomer when mine wouldn't hand scissor anymore because it took too much time. When he used the clippers my dog came home looking like a schnauzer and I had asked for a puppy cut!! I'm sure some groomers will comment, I'm just an owner! Good luck and don't worry, it eventually grows!!:) |
The best thing to do is take a picture of a yorkie that has a cut you like. Too many people come back to find a shaved yorkie. |
I learned after a disaster to not let a groomer use clippers on Lucy. She gets scissor cut and I'm very happy with the results. As the others said, a picture really helps! |
