What sort of brush/comb do you use?
 
I'm looking to purchase a decent Brush for pixie's fairly long silky coat (she's nearly 10 months old) what sort do you guys use?:confused: whats the best type for the yorkie coat? pictures of your brush/comb that YOU use would be most helpful!!:p :rolleyes:

Mason Pearson and Chris Christianson brushes are both very widely used and are great for Yorkies. They are a bit pricey, but an investment in long term coat care.

Bumping it up for you! my brush is from the pet store. nothing special. standard brush. Bella has short puppy cut so I dont really use it now

I will! I use a natural bristle brush on my 2. gets the tangles out w/o pulling too bad. Ive tried many kinds but this seems to work the best for them. Im sure you will get alot of feedback on many diff types so GL.

BTW, my best friend lives in Kent! Im over there alot during the year. Love the UK!!!! Wish I was there!

The CC Brushes and Combs, spendy but worth it , personaly i like the Gold Series !

I also use the Chris Christensen Gold series 27mm pin brush. Do a search on google for it. It is well worth the money, especially on silk coated yorkies although I use it on all of mine. When I first looked at it, it looked like brushes I had seen everywhere but the other brushes were cheaper. So I have tried just about everything before I finally broke down and got the CC brush. It was everything they say it is and more. I love it.

I recently bought the CC 20MM Fusion Oval brush. Gotta tell you I thought folks were nuts to spend so much on a brush, but what a difference this brush really makes. It is super easy to get through the coat, even if there are tangles, it really gives off a great shine and it is anti-static which is great for a silky coat. I highly recommend it!!!!!

We LOVE the Chris Christensen fusion brush. We have a comb from there too, but I forget the name of it.....we love both!! Great brand!

I've discovered the Madan pin brushes. They are a well kept secret used by show people. I've tried them all, All Systems, the Chris Christensen brushes and I got rid of them all after I got my Madan. It is the best brush I have ever used.

They are normally sold at shows, but a member on another forum I belong to also sells them online. PM me if you'd like her contact information. The brushes are $16.95 plus shipping through Cindy.

Lainee Ltd. also carries them, but they are more expensive.

i use the cc brush on lexi too... omg!!! when she sees that brush, she
comes running to me.. she just loves , loves, loves it... i like it too. ive tried it on my own hair, it feels so good .. and it also massages their scalp

I got the #35, have not used it yet, it looks scarry, the pins are so long.

I recently purchased 2 of these brushes and love them...it makes their hair extra soft...I haven't tried the CC brushes since I ran across the Madan brush...so I can't give a comparison..but i do love my Madan brushes

I bought a comb similiar to these, but not even close to that price. They have the wood teeth on one side and then the smaller on the other.

Metal of course and we use a conditioning spray prior to any brushing or combing.

I also bought a 100% all natural boar bristle brush (as that was what was recommending to me from someone on here at one time)...I bought mine for $20 at a local beauty supply store.

I really love them both!
