Please recommend quiet and good pet clipper For those who are knowledgeable about pet grooming products, can you please recommend me a good and quiet pet clipper? I already have a small Wahl moustache trimmer for cutting his armpit and pee area. I need something for his back but I need it to be quiet. I tried husband's hair clipper (Conair) on him but its too loud, he is scared but he is okay with the Wahl's moustache trimmer. I know there is a difference between a human's clipper and a pet's hence I am asking for opinion. Please let me know how much are yours because I have a set budget for it. Thank you very very much. |
I have wasted money on several clippers until I happened upon the Wahl Peanut. I love it, just make sure you use it with one of the guards on the blade! |

I wasted money on the Conair clipper too...It was originally for hubby but he only used it once and then pass it to me. I thought I could use it on Pao but then I discovered it was too loud and then by the time I knew it was too late to return it. |

My best investment is my Golden A 5 two speed dog clipper!!!! Mine is still running after 20 years. I got mine at ryans Pet/Grooming Supply. Costs about $120.oo and it comes with a 10 blade, which is great for most body cuts. |

small quiet trimmer I don't own one so I don't know how well it works but I saw this item on www.jefferspet.com and thought of this post. http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/produc...K63RH5F4A5FNP5 |
I like the little Wahl peanut clipper too for around ears and other parts on my schnauzers. But, for kayla and Mandy, ushing schissors are better because you sure don't want to shafe them. That hurts like heck and makes them red and miserable. Their little hind ends are sensitive. |
my 2 cents I was a pro-groomer for 27 years. I always used the Wahl professional clippers. They cost about $75 and come with a #10 Blade. Use this on the butt and around the private areas. You can also buy other blades. I NEVER used the guards because they always got caught in the hair. When you buy blades, just remember the smaller the number the longer it leaves the hair. You can also get a can of Oster Kool-Lube. That will lubricate your blade and cool it so you don't burn your dog. The blades can be sharpened for quite a few years depending on how often you use them. It may be a bit of an investment, but it should last a lifetime. P.S. Never put anything higher than a #10 on. The higher #'s they use for surgical cuts, and cuts like the poodle show cut and the such. |

Wow thanks for the info. I just got a set of Wahl Cordless Pro clippers at walmart. They were like $50. I have a corded one but it's a PIA with a pup that is kitchy about being groomed. So without the cord I can move around a lot faster and not get caught with the cord. |
Thank you for the info! I will be searching and hunting for the new clipper. Anyone else have info about clippers especially the ones that they love, please do share. Thanks again. |
I just bought a pair of andis on amazon and they were having a rebate of $20 off purchase of $49, the kit I bought was $79 plus free shipping. I used them yesterday and we did pretty good for a first time user. They came with 10"blade some comb attachments and oil. They are quiet and stayed cool. |
I have found that sometimes the vibrating clippers scare the dog a whole lot more. If you start them as puppies and let them get used to the noise it helps alot. Mine fought me at first, but then figured out that it had to be done!!! |
