I Took My Dog To The Vet... For Her Thinning Hair On Her Back Legs...they Think She Is Having An Allergic Reaction To Her Food...i Was Giving Her Purina (i Know They Suck)...they Want Me To Try Science Diet Z/d Low Allergien Dry #8 And Also Told Me To Use Benadryl Dye Free To See What Happens...NOW MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I CHANGE HER SHAMPOO AND GROOMING SPRAY...I USE MINK SHEEN AND SOME TEARLESS PUPPY SHAMPOO BUT THAT COULD THAT TRIGGER AN ALLERGIC REACTION |
Did they specifically ask about the type of shampoo you use? Or say you should stop using it? I would imagine the food is the biggest problem. I am not a fan of Science Diet, but I understand if you use it to follow up with your vet. I would recommend you get away from a food with corn in it. I think it is highly allergy causing. It really is worth it to spend a bit more on the food -- in the long run you can spend less money on vet visits, etc. If you write some of the high quality dog food companies and nicely ask for samples, you will be surprised by how generous many of them are. I can't imagine Mink Sheen is the problem, but I know every dog might react differently to different products. If you are concerned it might be the shampoo. I would just stick to one product for a bit and see if there is a problem. Don't mix product lines, that way it might be easier to see which item is causing the biggest issue. |
