What products are best to use on cottony hair?
 
I think Koda has a cottony coat and not silky.
His hair is always matted near the skin. And it's fluffy and poofy looking. I try to get the knots out but nothing seems to work.
Is there a special kind of product I should be using for his cottony hair? What about a conditner? And does anyone know of a good detangler too?

Also Koda seems to itch alot. (He does not have fleas) I think it might be the shampoo I am currently using, but I'm not sure. So it is probably good to change his shampoo anyway. I'm currently using- petland premium tearless puppy shampoo.

Any suggestions?

My girl has a cotton coat and I use minksheen shampoo, Pantene conditioner and Ice on Ice

I still use the CC Systems and Sea Breeze Oil on my Chanel - she has cottony hair and the sea breeze really moisturizes it - you can see how thick her hair is in this pic - if I didn't use the oil it would be all over the place

We tried several shampoos but the best so far has been the Spa Scents from Trilogy. It has all natural ingredients and has the mango/kiwi scent. the shampoo is very concentrated so it goes a LONG way. Their hair comes out silky soft and no conditioner needed. Kissy has the cottony hair and it comes out super soft and the tangles just comb right out. We love it!!

Really ? When I have a little extra I may try that one - I've been using the CC Systems for 5 years now and haven't really found anything that works as well for Chanel -

with Cheri I can use just about anything - Someone sent us the Minksheen and that works well on her - but it sure doesn't smell very good

I hated the Minksheen smell, but i kinda like it now...after i read the instructions and diluted it:rolleyes: matter of fact am all out, and reorder, wouldn mind trying the spa scents. Thanks for the link, never heard of it before !

:) :) :) Thank you !! I think she is too - and yes - that's a braid - I've never cut it but am seriously thinking about it now that I'm working full time

Paul Mitchelle makes a new dog line and i think Cash has a cottony coat so i bought the oatmel leave in conditioner and it works great ! they also have sampoos and conditiors and wips. its really an awesome product. I have a costmetology licesnce so i can buy it at cost but, groomers may sell it and i heard petsmart or petco sells it. oatmeal is good for dry skin. anyways there is my 2 cents.

i read someone posted about pantene conditior. I just want to let yall know that pantene puts a wax coat on the hair and therefore just makes it shinny. It is not very good to use on your own hair so im sure not good on your pets hair also. I just wanted to let yall know.
