hair cut for a yorkie??????
 
we kind of got a yorkie,,from our dauther,,she got the dog from some one else who got it from the original owner,,he a male about 6 years old,,he will not let us cut his hair,or groom him with out nipping at us,and i think if i brought him to a grommer the he would try to bitr them dose ANYONE have any ideas,,thank you for your help :animal36

Sounds like this little one has been passed around too often.
I would wait awhile until you both get to know each other and he
trusts you before I tried any grooming on him except giving a bath
and combing. Let him get use to you touching him and I would do that
daily. When he's more comfortable I would then try to groom him.
Good luck with him. Poor baby just needs some time to adjust.

My yorkie is 6 months old and I didn't have her hair cut yet. She used to enjoy the brushing, but recently she became very uneasy to brush. All of a sudden she became very angry at brush and run away from it. I try to be very gentle, but it happens again and again. Why she became so upset about brushing? Now her hair is kind of long and need grooming, but she is not cooperative with grooming as well. What should I do?

Has he not been to a groomer in the two years you have had him?? Maybe you could muzzle him at grooming time?? I dunno??

I think that maybe your best bet is the groomers. They will no what way to hold him to avoid a nip. And maybe he will get used to it over time.

Two years? How long is his coat? I am sure you could find a groomer that would be able to "handle" him, I hope. :rolleyes:

I had a Maltese like that and he had to have a muzzel for the groomer and the Vet. It worked and he was not stressed out by it.

my little guy got to the point where he wouldn't let me trim him
i too worried about how he would be going back to a groomer
it had been more than a year
i had to try...he was looking bad
he was great and now looks adorable, again :p
sometimes they are better with others
they know how to push our buttons :rolleyes:
